For accessories. I've got a MAP arm and like it a lot. That said, I use the rotary platen
something like 10x as much as the MAP arm. Mostly for handles, final profiling and sharpening.
It's great for convex grinds but I've been sticking to flat grinds lately.
The Caffrey platen is attractive. There are a couple of other folks around working on similar
designs but I don't know that any of them are quite done. Tracy Mickley's version (http://usaknifemaker.com/
is probably the closest but will take some work to adjust to a KMG.
