KMG has a new grinder!

I got my KMG TX about a week ago, I just now got to getting it setup as I needed to build the grinding bench.

My experience thus far has been nothing short of fantastic. Calls are answered promptly, emails are replied to promptly even after hours, the shipping was incredibly fast, and free.

there is a very minimal amount of setup required, I went with the 220v option so setup was more involved but still minimal.

I went with the KMG TX over the TW90 mostly due to cost. I got the KMG TX, extreme work rest, small wheel attachment and full set of small wheels with a holder, a couple extra tool arms, 2" rubber wheels for the flat platen, and a grinding belt package all for just a hair over $1,000 less than the TW90. The cherry on top is that I got my grinder in just over 5 days.

I have nothing against the TW90 or Travis, my money just went further with the KMG. And $1,000 buys a lot of steel and belts.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the KMG TX to anyone who wants a really nice grinder, and also wants to save a bit over the best grinder.

My KMG-TX was dropped off by Fed-Ex on Wednesday. Built a new stand out of an old Drill press, as I new the height would be different than my KMG-10. Fed-Ex attempted to destroy the grinder in transit, the box was torn open and it was left on end at the house. After getting everything together I did have an issue with the motor surging. I switched everything over to 220 with no effect. I Checked the set up guide on the old interwebs with no effect. I called Beaumont and explained the issue, with in 30 seconds Rob was on the phone. He had me verify a few things in the VFD and make a couple adjustments. Everything was operating as it should in about 3 minutes.

I have no complaints what so ever and a couple suggestions.
1. Buy one you’ll love it.
2. Belt tension, more is better.
Here are couple pics.

Dang, was the drill press dead? It looks like it was a nice one. Variable speed?
