Kmg Sweetness

Sam, you must be choppin' at the bit, drooling ever time you look at her. Can't wait to get her spinnin'? I can't wait to see the blades you get off of that machine.

Happy Grinding Man :D

Thanks guys! Hey John good to see yah.

Larry, YOU BET I AM. I just scrounged a nice HEAVY table to mount her on, just gotta remove a couple hundred layers of paint(used to be a paint stand) and then put a new coat of paint on, then drill the mounting holes and get the motor on and am good to go.

you must be chomping at the bit to start grinding. i remember how excyted i was when my box of belts showed up :). o about belts. i put a 60 grit blaze belt on and it does not run true but the 220 does. i put the belt on the floor and the belt does not sit flat. i got my belts from tru-grit will thay replace it? im happy for you getting the kmg.

Got my KMG running yesterday. Had an electrician come out and run a outlet on its own breaker for the grinder. I bolted it all down and fired it up, SWEET. Thing runs smooth as silk. I had a 1.5hp dayton motor I hooked up to it and it seems to run great. I roughed a small skinner out of the 5160 I have and the KMG ate it up no problem. The 5160 is 1/4" thick too. I was using a 36 grit belt to do the initial roughing.

wd40 is flamable so let it dry befor you start grinding or you wont have a cool grinder anymore it will be hot :)

I am so jealous! I had to sell my KMG as I lost my job. I sold many things but I miss my KMG the most. Was hoping to get a new one before the new year price increase but couldn't swing it. Best of luck with a great machine.:D

OH YEAH!!!!!!! Got the motor mounted today dna everything is setup and ready to go! Had to do a bit of creative engineering to get the 2 inch pulley on the motor to run on the steps on the step pulley on the grinder itself, pictures tommorrow! WORKS GREAT, i just need belts:grumpy::mad::grumpy::mad:

Sam you'll love working with the KMG. I've had mine for over two years. Just ordered a second chassis. There'll be two KMG's in my shop to speed things up. Best of luck!

I am only a beginner. If I was good enough to make and sell knives I never would have sold. Keeping a roof over my families head was my only concern. I wish I could get another as I miss it more than anything but I guess it wasn't ment to be?

A sad thing JL, i saw the posting on the classifieds. You'll get back into, no worries, sometimes things have a way of working out. GOOD LUCK!
