Knee reconstruction today AHHHH!

Noticed your comment on silver casting. I used to do some of that as I did silver work along with a rockhounding hobby .
I still have a centrifugal caster and a burn out oven. I use the oven for heat treating on knives.

One time many years ago I experienced a major run of frostbite. Hands, feet,ears, face. After getting warmed up, I was getting a little concerned. It hurt! Called the Doc. He said "just relax and enjoy it, it won't last forever."

That is all you got to do, relax, enjoy it. Heck there are folks out there that will never get the chance to experience what you will know. Take your time getting healed up and you will only have to do it once.
 
Whew! Im back, Boy am I groggy but feel better after my morning Bf fix,

The operation went well they told me. The leg is still asleep mostly but is wakimg up.

Thanks for the warm thoughts and good advice esp. the chili one. I figure about a quart of IG heat-treat sauce would cure me so I can get back out there. Start sending all your knives for hand rubbed finishes asap I only have 4 weeks off.

Bruce, Glad to hear things went well! You be a good boy and let it heal up before you start out in the shop. Maybe soon you'll get enough relief from some lesser pain pills and stop falling asleep. How long till you start theropy?
 
Glad to hear your feeling better Bruce. Just take it easy and take your time getting better. I feel bad saying that because it would drive me crazy but, make sure your OK before you push it. I know we'd all hate to hear about you hurtin' more. Take care and let us know how the silver casting comes (I've always wanted to try that).
 
Stiil rummy from the Hydrocodone (sp?) Need my BF fix. The leg is getting just a small amount of motion back finally. There is light at the end of the tunnel.

Good Luck on your recovery Bruce! I've been there, done that, have the scars to prove it. Keep up the PT and get that leg strong and you'll be fine.
