I too only need one knife at a time. Its the next new knife that hits the market, with an exotic handle material or a new tougher steel, or a stunning blade shape. Yes I only need one knife...for a while.
But soon I know I'll need another knife, a better knife, with a better lock, with an uglier handle of some heretofore unheard of material that is impervious to any known agent, G-12 maybe. Yes my closet may be full of knives, but I only need one...at a time.

I was worried for a second, I thought someone had killed Mark!

That's the only thing that will cure my addiction

Knives are like cigarettes; some people only need 3 or 4 a day and others need 3 or 4 packs a day.

Except knives don't cause cancer.

Some people can quit knife collecting and some of us lucky ones can't.

I'm glad you have finally come to your senses

For myself I'm not sure I wish to be cured - some of us have gotta keep the knifemakers fed and clothed. Else they may have to try to eke out a living making Pokemon miniatures out of damascus

Hi Mark, it's good to see that you are still taking part in the forums. Even if you have lost a little interest in knives, we would hate to lose you.

Keith.

Well as Dean Martin once said, "You can't buy happiness, but you can pour it."

Mark, if getting rid of your knives and leaving us all behind is part of your cure and what will make you happy, than so be it. Ya gotta do what you gotta do.

maddog2020 is right, I've seen a lot of people come and go from here, some others are still around, but they post a lot less. I still read the Forums every day but I don't post like I used to and it's sometimes hard even to find an interesting thread to read. I still have the deisre to acquire knives, but my collecting has become more focused. I know I'll never get to the point where I own a couple of hundred knives like some of the guys here.

If two knives for you is all you need right now that's fine. You know where to come if you need another one or if you just want to chew the fat.

Be well and be happy.

I know a little bit about you from the signature line issue a few months ago, so I was wondering...

Did your decision have a spiritual component?
