Knife and Watch combo. Let's see them!

I don’t actually wear my watch in this manner, just makes composition a little easier.

Trying out a new Kubey. This is a surprisingly good front-flipper with a very nice blade. The spine edges are angled nicely for comfort and the jimping back there is just right for what it is. Unfortunately, I can't say the same for the jimping on the lock bar. It might be helpful with gloves but I almost never use a folder with gloves. So it mostly just irritates the tip of my finger when I press it. That's a shame given the otherwise excellent ergonomics here.

I'll probably grind it down at some point. In the meantime, the only other issue was a little bit of blade play but that was solved with an upgrade to Skiff bearings.

The watch doesn't cost much more than the knife but it remains one of my all-time favorites. The Bertucci DX3 is cheap, reliable, and relatively rugged. The lume on the hands is decent. The company offers great customer service. There is also something about an uncomplicated field watch...

Kirk, is it just me or do you have a thing for Citizen watches?

Very knice!
Indeed I do.

I used to collect mechanical watches, but sold most of them several years ago at auction. I was getting on in years and had no one to leave them to. Plus, many of the watches were due for increasingly costly maintenance. It just made no sense to keep them.

But, once a collector, always a collector.

I began buying Citizens for several reasons. First, relative to many other brands, they don't cost all that much. Second, being solar powered, they are always ready to go and require little or no attention or upkeep. Third, I like Citizen's aesthetic: they just look good to me.

Kirk, I hear you and am a step behind you.
My Rolex watches - which were my daily in rotation now sit in the safe more than not and I'm wearing Steinharts and Casio Duros along with a rubber watch now and again. It's hard to explain but do not feel like I'm missing anything ... just got to bring myself to selling a few of them off as I did with an old Submariner I had - I was shocked at the prices they fetch anymore.
