Knife and Watch combo. Let's see them!

Kirk, I hear you and am a step behind you.
My Rolex watches - which were my daily in rotation now sit in the safe more than not and I'm wearing Steinharts and Casio Duros along with a rubber watch now and again. It's hard to explain but do not feel like I'm missing anything ... just got to bring myself to selling a few of them off as I did with an old Submariner I had - I was shocked at the prices they fetch anymore.
Salty: For more than 30 years, my daily beater (and I mean beater) was a 1655 Rolex Explorer II, bought in the mid 1970s. Eventually--and before I really began collecting--I picked up a Citizen GMT World Timer.

Well, I started wearing the Citizen more and more until I rarely wore the Rolex. I just liked it better. I guess that's where my affinity for Citizens began. Then I found out how much people were paying for 1655s; I wore even less frequently after that.

Among other things, I'm a pilot so of course have a GMT or three. My old 16710 is worth more than my six digit GMTs ... to include a two-tone one. Little by little I started wearing them less and less and the "beaters" more and more. I somehow got with Casios mainly because of the Duros. I have three (different colors) and there's just some comfort in wearing a good looking watch (er, ah "timepiece") that cost less than a typical bar tab!

To circle back to the knives and watches theme, more and more I'm rockin' a beater quartz watch (Duro, G-Shock, etc.) and a Cold Steel or Spyderco compared to the days of a Rolex and a Sebenza. My finances have remained stable but my tastes apparently have changed.

I love this thread. Some beautiful knives and timepieces. I’ll be posting a new pic here soon. Just got a new Inkosi which I have yet to open and check out. And I’m currently looking at a few new watches. Tisso and Seiko seem to appeal to me the most. And G-Shock and a few Hamiltons. I sold few watches and now I wanna build up my collection again. I only have a Seiko Coutura and G-Shock at the moment. But I’m working on it.

It’s a fun time for seiko and g-shock fans, so much great affordable new stuff to check out! Also fun to be a Swatch fan, some fun offerings there as well…still hunting the Moonswatch myself :)

nothing wrong with a g shock. most of us have one and wear it or have had one. casio makes some great watches......they even have a higher end range and much higher dollars in Japan than most realize.......

I occasionally wore a Casio digital watch back in the day. They get the job done although I preferred the look of uncomplicated analog watches.

After a long break and getting more focused on EDC, I jumped back in with Bertucci. It has that "just a watch" appeal with a reasonably protected crystal, offset crown, and decent hand lume. In this kind of weather, I prefer the feel of their canvas strap. In the summer, I switch to their ultra-thin "Italian rubber".

I have others but these two were handy...

I have one of those in titanium somewhere sitting in a watch case. I'm lazy at changing batteries.
