Knife authenticity

It is a sad state of affairs that fakes are everywhere. As a watch collector, the few times I have purchased rare used pieces, I immediately go to my watch maker and have him open it up and check it out. I have seen fakes of Rolex, Patek, Breitling, Omega, Cartier etc. I am sure there are plenty of knife copies out there but the profit is lower. Sad part is that some fakes are really good and cold stand on their own if they had good branding and weren't an exact copy.

Having a similar background in collecting watches, knives, etc. , I would agree with you completely.

I have a friend who recreated his sebenza 21 on his cnc after he broke the blade in half using it as a pry bar. He used different materials ( Rex 121, steel handle) but it looked the exact same.
