Well its been quite a while since I've posted a pic of anything on Bladeforums..
I thought some of you guys might think this is cool though..
This is a prototype of something I have been kicking around in my head for a while.. I still want to add a striker/mini-tool to it, but for now I have this..
The DMT diamond sharpener is held in place by sunken and flared SS pins, as well as 2 ton epoxy, so is the 3/8" mish metal ferro rod. Both arent going anywhere;)
I want to offer these as a stand alone piece of gear as well as rig them to the Survival knife systems I have made for years now..

Anyway here are a few crappy pics of it, and this one is in green G-10, but could be made of whatever the handle of a given knife was made from.
Also a couple of knives I have made that are sorta outdoorsy, and utilitarian..;)

Any questions or suggestions would be great.

Take care
Trace

Sweet ... I love the idea as it makes it a multi-use tool

What are you thinking for the striker/mini-tool ?

Nice knives.

Not sure just yet, but most likely it will ride in a milled out recess between the DMT and G-10, similar to how Rob Simonich used to rig his "Parasite knives" to the handle of larger blades.. Probably a simple stainless tool with a little scraper area, maybe a bottle opener, and chisel tip for doing those things you usually want to try and use the tip of your knife for..;)

that is way cool Trace... right on.. i love the looks of those knives too man...

I really like the concept. You wind up with the things you need, but you have fewer small items to keep track of.

Nice concept. Unique idea. The knives are great looking as well! We need some more info on them!

Looks Good!

I think if you drilled a hole in that G-10 or between, for holding some PJCB, it would be perfect!

The first pic is of my TTKK, and the second is a ride along TUK set..
I've been doing "Survival" type knife systems for several years, and you might have seen some of them in use in the Hoods Woods vid's.. Ron carried a system similar to the Armageddon set in this picture in his Solo Survival and other Hoods Woods volumes. It also had a firestarter and sharpener rigged into the paracord on the back side of the sheath..
The other one also shows a sharpener on the back of the sheath.. Im a fan of having a way to maintain a knife, and a way to start fire worked into the sheath.. If you grab only that, you are way ahead of the game IMO..

Right now Im not taking orders on knives until I get a bit more caught up with my backlog, but Im hoping to change that in the not too distant future..

Oh, yeah, I've seen your stuff before. I've got a Warhawk, and I've read Ron's article, and I've handled an Armageddon over at Terrill's before. That may have been a TOPS version. I even had an older style that you used to do. I think it was called the Shark Tooth in BG42.

I saw the pictures and thought it might be a TUK, but for some reason, it just looked a little different to me than the one on your site. I like the ride-along concept, but with two knives there, I'd like to see that same TUK or TTKK profile stretched out to about 6.5 inches. There would be more difference between the two blades.

But, you make some great stuff. Everything I've seen is top-knotch. I actually read about the Warhawk way back when a gentleman over at Alpha wrote about it. I drooled on that knife for a few years before I was able to get one!

Thanks G-man! I appreciate the kind words... Also re: 6.5" TUK/TTKK with ride along blades.. I have done that and plan on doing it more. I just dont have any pics.

Heres a TTKK stretched out a bit though... I also would step up in thickness of stock on the larger blade as well.;)

BTW the site is "dated" and so are the pics... I will get to that soon too..:o

trace,
good to hear from you, that "arm" you made for me is great, i would like to have a multi doodad thing sharpener/firesteel/miniprybar-striker when you decide to get them made. thought you fell off the earth for a while, but i guess you just got buried in work.
