Knife bullets and firesteel

Great idea, I like it! That's what I love about this forum, people always being creative and thinking of things I never would have thought of.

When I first read the title of this thread, I thought you were making bullets out of ferrocerium. I thought, "Cool idea, civilian tracer rounds!" :D

Nice idea on the sharpener/ferro rod! dang I miss my Armageddon combo rig :( Thing was sweet.

Awesome set-up!

Trace,
When ya coming up to Idaho?

Jason

Hey Jason! It may be soon man. Things are really going south here..;) We will have to get together when I do! Should be by this summer for sure. Cant wait!

Thanks guys, I'm glad you all like the idea. This is a great forum with alot of knowledge, and I wanted to get some solid feedback..
Once I get the final proto done, I will show it here, and also should have a better idea about availability.. I also have some other doo dads in the planning stages you guys might dig too:thumbup:

Trace, been offline due to computer issues and being way too busy -- sorry i did not get back to you. Love the whole set-up!

Everyone, Trace makes some of the best user blades in the business. I HIGHLY recommend his knives to anyone who wants a blade that cuts like a demon and still puts up with intense abuse.

Thanks G-man! I appreciate the kind words... Also re: 6.5" TUK/TTKK with ride along blades.. I have done that and plan on doing it more. I just dont have any pics.

Heres a TTKK stretched out a bit though... I also would step up in thickness of stock on the larger blade as well.;)

BTW the site is "dated" and so are the pics... I will get to that soon too..:o

Yeah, I like that a lot. That's about what I was talking about with your ride-along rig. What thickness is that one?

Great idea Trace. Any plans for a way to carry it?

BTW, your blades are stilling going strong here in Africa. Just wish I had more time to play.

Regards

Aubrey

He do make a sharp knife. :D He makey sharp S30V with needle point that got jinked into freehanging pine dowels and ripped out sideways over and over again with no damage.

Have you given any thought to putting a hole in the handle for a hex bit? You've got the handle length to put some torque there.

No worries B. I figured you were busy.. Im glad you like it, and when I get to making these I will send one for you to check out... Im also looking at doing some mid tech survival knife rigs to be able to produce more in a timely fashion. I'll be sure you get to check those out when they are rolling as well:thumbup:

G-man, on medium size blades I like to stick with 1/8" stock to keep the cutting performance high. On larger blades 6"-7" I would step up to 5/32" or 3/16"

Hey Aubrey!!! Good to hear from you man.. I do plan on making a kydex holster for them that will attach with screws to the sheath. It will be removable also and can be a stand alone item that will be Tek Lok compatible..

Thanks Don!!, always good to here from you my friend. Hope all is well bud!

Spark, thats not a bad idea.. I had also been thinking there might be a way to make an integral whistle in the handle.. I got alot of idea's, and this is just the first "stab" at this. Above all I want it to be functional, and tough, without getting too out of hand.. But there is still quite a bit of room in that handle for things.!!;)

Thanks to all you guys, I really appreciate the good feedback and positive comments about my work. It means alot coming from you all.
