I have been buying and pre ordering with Knife Center since 2006. That is the earliest receipt I have from them that I could find. They treat me with respect, follow requests such as :check alignment, check for blade play, etc.
They usually recognize my voice and have my address and shipping preferences in the computer. They are one of the biggest, oldest and best so they often will get many more pre orders than they will get knives. They are up front with this and will stop taking any more pre orders when they feel it's time. Often there are a few extras as there are going to be some cancellations.
With the Cruwear millie I was the first in line. As soon as I was able to find the number "C36GPGY" I called customer service and asked if they had began a pre order yet. No they hadn't. Will you begin one with me first on the list? They did just that.
Recall I was talking to people I've known since Sal released ZDP in a Spyderco as records show that was my first pre order and purchase.
Yes, they are trustworthy, fast, honest and even though I only have returned one product out of maybe 160 orders/purchases I feel they would treat me well, but no different from every other customer in good standing.
I have to admit I like the swag they give away with purchases ( see the newsletter for details).
No, despite me being a good customer they wouldn't bump me up on the pre order list. If they had the time I asked them too I likely would have stopped doing business with them figuring if they would do it for me, they would do it for others. I try to get in early in the top 10 or so. That won't make the first shipment but it will the second usually.
