I couldn't have built my pre-WWII Bruckmann collection or OldTimer collection without eBay. I don't mind buying pre-owned knives, but only if the knives are in unused condition. I wouldn't give a nickel for a used knife...
In addition to eBay, I have bought pre-owned knives from Northwest Knives and Collectibles and from the For Sale area on this forum.

I don't know of a place to get used knives, but Bladeauction seems to have some real problems.

eBay, flea markets/farmers markets/yard sales (stay away from the Chinese copies!), Knife World classifieds section, Blade magazine classified section, pawn shops (only when they don't know what they have, which is rare).
