Knife confessions

Why? That is the only Benchmade knife I have any desire to own.

I just feel like it's too clumsy feeling in the hand becuase of the round shape of the scales. I have a 550-1 and I like the looks and idea of it, but I almost never cary it. When talking Benchmade... If I want something small I'll cary a bugout or mini bugout. If I want a medium, 940-1. If large then I'll get the Contego. Griptilian gets passed up a lot.

I am starting to like some French knives, thanks to Corto Malt's pics, and others, maybe not the Laguiole as much but the Aurillac, and Le Thiers. I like to check out the traditional French Friday thread. Makes me want to break out the wine and cheese, salami or other cold cuts and put them in a picnic basket for an outing to the country. Corto also had some fancy schmanze cheese that looked cool. Then have to break out the coffee to finish the day, feeling quite pleased with myself and pleasantly edumacated about a different culture......at least just for the food. Ooo la la. No beret yet, thank goodness.

IMG_0437.JPG IMG_0458.JPG Ok, less fancy, I admit that I am finding smaller knives, mostly slipjoints to be very handy, light to carry and cutting small tasks. I have my Case Tear drop and my AG Russell slip joints as my EDC right now. And in honor of my French knives mention above, the Opinel 6 gets some use too. A Case peanut is also somewhere around here. And some Boker Barlows.
