Why not start a new Sub Forum in the Knife Exchange; knives for sale individual. to include "Tactical Knives" along with the already Custom/Production/Automatics etc.
Would seem logical to me considering the vast amount of Busse, Swamp Rats, etc. that people are constantly flipping for sale to each other. I would guess there are more Busse transactions than the new Buck transactions in its new thread.

I buy a fair amount of knives on these forums(enjoy it) and get kinda tired of constantly scrolling down thru all of the wierd named Busse's looking for knives that are non-tactical.

Regards :D :D

That would be too many forums to moderate. A Busse For Sale Forum was shot down so I don't think your idea would fly.

It's hard enough trying to distinguish between production and custom -- took us a lot of arguing to get that straight. I can't imagine getting everyone to agree on which knives are tactical and which aren't.

The Buck guys campaigned for a forum. The only people campaigning to make a seperate Busse sales forum are people who are not interested in them. . .

Members who buy a membership are allowed to sell. That much we know. We also know that when a member has a knife for sale and they start a thread it will be bumped to page 3 in a matter of hours because of the multiple Busse knife sale threads. Compound that with members who have multiple Busse knives for sale and list them separately the one of knife sale will never be seen on page one for more than a few hours. It is my opinion that the Busse sellers are abusing the privilege given to them by not list multiple knife sales in one thread and giving others a fair shot. A separate Busse For Sale Forum should be implemented in spite of the objections.

Case in point...

I posted a knife for sale a week ago. In a matter of minutes it was bumped to page 2 by multiple Busse knife sales. A rule is in effect in the Exchange that you cannot BTTT a knife more than once a day after it is posted. By the next morning my knife sale was on page 6!!! That is not right. Othe knife sales bumpe by thread of course but the main offenders were those selling Busse knives.

Give them their own For Sale Forum already and give the other members a chance to sell on an even plane.

You experienced guys are probably right about the "What is tactical vs. not tactical" thinking of the populatin of current members. I can see issues with alot of people, considering the wierd stuff I've read here on BF in the last 3 months.

However, if there was like some of you mentioned , a Busse-Rat For Sale forum it would be quite easy to moderate, when the tacky says 100% Busse-Rat for sale or infractions will fly at double the rate, that should do it.

Thanks for your considerations, it won't kill me to keep scrolling down though.

Chris

As we speak there are 15 Busse/Rat knives for sale posts. 4 of which are at the top. Again.

I should institute a "no BTT without a price drop or more information / picture" policy

How about instituting infractions for members who don't consolidate their for multiple sale threads? I'm not talking about the guys who sell one knife every few months or so. I'm talking about the guys who post multiple single sale threads 2 or more at a time. Infractions should be given to the guys who post one knife one day, another the next, and the next, etc.

I am all for consolidated sales. Posting a bunch of threads with one knife apiece is pretty much just spamming.

But I disagree that the brands of knife someone is selling should have any bearing on the matter. People can sell what they want if they pay for the membership. If there was a seperate Busse forum, I would still sell all my production knives in the main forum, just as I would do with Buck. I doubt I am the only one who never checks out the buck sale forum. . . but If I saw a deal on one in the main forum I might snap it up. I never browse the sales forum with any certain brand of knife in mind, I just like to see what is available.

BTT limits have no effect if people not interested keep stopping by to comment on the knife or seller- put a stop to that, and excessive BTT'ing and things would be better. If I am selling, I don't like getting alerted to posts in my thread unless someone is interested in a knife.

I think it would be good to have more threads displayed per page as well.

The man has spoken.

We'll be discussing this in the mods forum, then issue a decision.

Stay tuned.

Naturally everybody is welcome to contribute to the discussion. If there's any private discussion in the moderator's forum it will just be about technical details of implementation.

If there was a seperate Busse forum, I would still sell all my production knives in the main forum, just as I would do with Buck.

If we had a Busse For Sale Forum your thread would most likely be moved. Now you'll probably ask why we don't suggest a For Sale forum for every brand. There are more people selling Busse knives than there are Buck sellers. Much more so than any other brand of knife on the forum. It is downright ridiculous and rules need to made to give every seller an equal shot at exposure of their sale.

Oh well. I would just list Non-Busse knives along with any Busse I might list. I am not going to have my ability to occasionally sell my knives infringed just because some people don't like seeing that brand for sale. Paying members have the same right to post their knives where they will get equal attention regardless of brand names. If you are going to start cutting certain brands out, then make a separate forum for each brand and watch how hard it becomes to sell your knives.

Everyone knows that a "Tacticool" knife. . . . .everything on the knife is black (except the grind of the blade edge). :D

A bump rule sounds cool. A monetary drop rule will be hard to enforce unless there is a monetary value set. As an example, Joe Bubba lists a knife for $200 and bumps the thread every fours hours by lowering the asking price by $ .25. :D

I belong to several forums that have a 72 hour bump rule - where the seller can't reply to their own ad thread within 72 hours of the last post in the ad. The only problem that you'll face in enforcing this type of rule is when Joe Bubba's buddy bumps the thread with the trivial BS such as "Cool knife, JB is a honest citizen," etc,. . . .or you get the typical tire kicker who responds with, "I would be all over this, but I'm broke." :D

Anywhoz, all changes or updates to the for sale thread are accomplished by editing the original post.
