Let's hear some knife fails.

IMO

- Anything other than full tang on a big chopper (8 inches or more). Sooner or later that thing is gonna break (experience).
- Idaho Made printed on an expensive knife. Idaho, really?
- Knives with slick handle materials with no finger choil or guard. Sooner or later you'll cut your fingers (experience).

Just having fun here.

Oh boy, not a CRK Fan I'm guessing.

In before the lock

Why do we need choils?

Would you rather a knife made in Idaho say London Made?

Not convinced these are fails. I recommend doing a bit more reading and furthering your knowledge of cutlery. Its a big world, and knives have been around, and evolved over many millennia into what we see today.

Dear Son:

Battle swords have been made with stick tangs for millennia. The collective wisdom of the makers and users vs your opinion.

There is no apparent logic to the statement that making a knife in Idaho precludes quality. Is this indeed an effort at a subtle shot at Reeve? If so, check your foot for a wound and bleeding.

Working knives - fixed-blade and folding -- have been made without guards or finger choils for millennia, including in the land where Odin was worshiped The collective wisdom of the makers and users vs. your opinion.

Here's one; any knife with a 440c blade that costs over 50 bucks. i cringe when i see a 100-250 dollar knife with a 440 on its specs. whats worse is i think i've been seeing some $6-700 Randalls made of 440.. i hope i'm wrong.

Leaving an unsharpened portion of blade. I can't stand that, does it really take that much more effort to put in a sharpening notch or fully sharpen?

"Idaho, really?" Idaho made knives include CRK, Buck and TOPS as far as I know... Nothing to sneeze at.

The only good thing from Idaho is potatoes... And CRK knives. Not my style but they are well made.

I can see why some people might be adverted to Idaho Made. I have never heard anybody mention those super skilled craftsmen in Idaho, nor have I really heard anybody say much about Idaho at all. Every state is known for it's "thing", and none of them are really known for super skilled craftsmen. I see Idaho Made as "Well, US made wasn't specific enough".

I love how the first time anything can be taken as an insult against a favored manufacturer here, all the panties immediately get in a bunch. Not everybody is going to like your favorite anything, and they are entitled to be verbal in not liking it just as much as you are entitled to be verbal in liking it. Now let's discuss this like adults not act like the OP just cursed your god (not intending to be religious, it is just an apt analogy).

I hate seeing a knives that are expensive (to me, $50+ depending on the model) with a less than expensive steel. Stuff like a $80 knife with AUS-8 or a $100 knife with 440C. Yes, I'm staring you down Böker and Cold Steel.
