Knife Fights in Movies

I don't know if this has been poasted before, but I'll give it a try:

What are some of your favorite knife fighting scenes in movies? I seem to remember a Peter Coyote film from the eighties which was all about knife fighting. Dune also ended in a knife fight.

I particularly like the ending fights in both Under Siege 1 & 2. Does anybody know the names of the knives used in any of these films. I think Seagal was using a Titanium SEAL knife in #2, but I couldn't find a pic. Here's a pic from #1:

Anyway, please poast any comments good or bad.

I think the first one I ever saw was The Iron Mistress...IIRC it was about Jim Bowie and Alan Ladd was the actor.

Seagal used a few Mad Dogs and Tommy used a Gerber Mark 11. I think there was a Hibben throwing knife as well.

"All the Pretty Horses" jail scene in the cafeteria with Matt Damon. Chilling!

Matador-

The movie THE MATADOR with Pierce Brosnian, he had a neat looking little folder with a thumb lock. It looked like a William Henry.

Kill Zone is a newly released Hong Kong film starring Sammo Hung and Donnie Yen, which features a villainous right-hand man armed with a tanto with which he brutally eliminates enemies. There is also a nicely-done knife vs. collapsible baton scene in an alley near the end.

Full Contact is a '90s Hong Kong gangster film with Chow Yun-Fat; his character is quite handy with a bali-song knife, one of the best bali sequences in a movie, IMO.

I also liked the end sequence in The Hunted by the waterfall.

Cool i've read a few books on Jim Bowie and i've always wanted to see that particular flick. Thats based on the Paul J Wellman book isn't it?
Unfortunately i've never been able to find it on video, vhs or DVD.
:grumpy:

Uma vs. Vivica in Kill Bill
Christian Slater vs. Lou Diamond Phillips in Young Guns 2
Tommy Lee vs Benecio in the Hunted

Classic movie knife fight-West Side Story, 1961. A rumble under the highway, Sharks against the Jets. Bernardo and Riff go at it with switchblades, Riff gets stabbed, and in revenge Tony kills Bernardo.

"Exposure." 1991

Overall, quite good. Not very realistic. But the training scenes were spot-on. The Knife fight at the end was better than what you see from Hollywood films, but that's still not saying much.

Coyote's character was a dumb-ass who should have gotten killed a few times during the film, if it was Real Life. At one point, one of the bad guys is on the phone, telling his buddies why he let Coyote's chartacter live, after having a chance to kill him.

His character has zero street-smarts and a ton of luck!

The film is definitely worth seeing.
