Knife flaws that bug you the most?

I second weak detents and hollow grinds too by the way!
I had this one crappy Chinese knife in boy scouts that had a scorpion in the handle, which I loved at the time because it had a thumb stud. It had such a weak detent, it came open in my pocket just from me moving around.

Daggers with center spines that don't line up with the tip bother me. Especially on the better models. Its like a small scratch you just noticed on a new car. From then on your eyes will always reflexively pick it out.

Old Al Mar & SOG daggers were bad about this & I've seen several Boker A/F daggers with this problem.

I don't like hollow grinds either.
My AUS-8A mini AK-47 is hollow ground and holds its edge for about 15 minutes.
I understand, but I think that is more due to the steel and heat treat than the hollow grind to be honest.

When $400+ knives have terrible edges. (Except my kitchen knives, they're suppose to be sharpened by chef)
Super sharp pocket clips.

I absolutely hate it when companies don't optimize the space available in the handle for the blade. A perfect example is the Gerber Flik. I like the reverse tanto, but if it was a regular tanto, drop point, or clip point (any blade style where the cutting edge comes up and meets the spine rather than the spine coming down to the cutting edge), you could easily get another half inch of cutting edge put in there.

way off center, vertical bladeplay, horizontal bladeplay, cheap screws that stripped before I could even loosen it

I hate it when they are too expensive for me to afford . Seriously , I dislike if a knife comes with too obtuse of a factory edge

absolutely hate hollow grinds, they are very weak, rather have a flat or scandi grind
Not a flaw but a deliberate design decision. Depends on the blades primary purpose. I prefer a hollow grind on a hunting knife for field dressing. There's a valid reason so many hunting knives are hollow ground.

1. Economy folding knives with plastic washers instead of bronze.
2. Pocket clips that are too thin (that will bend/break)
3. Pocket clips that are either extra wide, curved, or "strange" as to draw unwanted attention. This is the other extreme to point #2.
4. No lanyard hole.

Bad HT for sure. Dull out of the box is annoying but an easy fix. And any play what so ever is an instant turn off. Painted black blades/clips as well. I don't mind a tight clip at all, I prefer it actually, but that's just me:)
