Knife for a non-knife person?

I bought my wife a small pink Kershaw Shuffle off Massdrop a while back for her to use (instead of my good steak knives) for opening packages and such. She doesn't use it. I'm glad i only spent $12 on it. If she shows more interest one day she can pick out something.

My ex however, she actually permanently borrowed a benchmade mel pardue. Used it for everything. I miss that knife.

I purchased an alox Vic Classic for myself and when my wife saw it, she permanently borrowed it. Have no idea if she ever used it. As far as X's borrowing things.... mine borrowed my Colt Diamondback and I never saw it again. Learned a lesson on that one, an expensive one.

If she wants to move away from tactical modern looking designs to something less threatening looking, you might consider some traditional knives in the 3" blade size range.

The Buck 500 Duke is a beautiful traditional lock back in your price range.

The Opinel #8 is available in some fancier woods like this Olive wood. Very beautiful and a great food prep and all around knife. Much sturdier than the weight and cost suggests.

spyderco delica 4 please. It is much better than Rat II. Your sister deserves a good folder.
