Knife for my dad?

As a fellow firefighter I prefer spydercos because of the hole. I carry a pm2 and it's a breeze to open even with gloved hands. It's built like a tank. I got rid of my mini grip because it was more difficult to open.

Idk if you're like me but I find most of the rescue knives to be a joke. All I want is a knife blade. I have the other tools readily available. Plus my knife stays in my station pants. I can't access it with my bunker gear on.

At firefighterguy .. agreed %100 on the "rescue" knife things . Hopefully he likes the PM2 as much as I do. But it's not a big deal if he don't cause I'll carry the hell out of it haha

I have the ZT 0560bw and he ain't a big fan of it . Thinks it's way to big for EDC . Knowing him he is probly gonna put this knife threw hell and back . Probly gonna end up getting the PM2 and hope he can get over the larger size (if not I'll keep it haha)

I was actually talking about the 0566. My buddy has one, and I was really impressed. It's the perfect edc sized blade, IMO. It's smaller than the PM2, but feels like it could stand up to more. Although, I would have to say that the PM2 is probably a better knife for everyday tasks with that thin full flat grind. The 0566, however, I'd prefer to carry on the job.

I'm in the same boat want to but my Dad a knife for Chrismas but he hard uses his knives! Bought him a blur a few years back and he broke the tip off. Want to get him a pm2 too but thinking he will destroy the tip! Want to get him a 0566 but they are so heavy for EDC in my opinion for him! Want to get a domino but it's just out of my price range I want to spend!!

Get him a Hogue EX03, be hard(er) pressed to break the tip... (They're currently on sale at bladehq)
Or even a tanto tip Griptillian (or mini grip) even lighter yet.

Kershaw Emerson cqc7 tanto would be a cheaper route to go, guage his intetest in a tanto tip, but again, much harder pressed to break the tip (on a sturdy tanto) then a standard drop point.
