woah... I can't believe that so many of you guys are this blind... that you actually think there is that much difference between Ds & Rs... We live in a single party country, my friends... and that party is run by like minded billionaires. the guy who is our president is the guy they put there. ...it's just the was it is right now... pointing fingers is just silly.

I think Obama would dig a UKPK.

Scott Dog, Was it you who started this thread? It has grown so fast I am not sure. I will assume (at the risk of making an ass out of u and me) that your question about the proper knife for our next president was sincere, rather than an attempt to stir up the champerpot of hatred that it did. As a few people have pointed out, not everybody who loves knives is a right-wing nutcase (no offense). I understand that many knife nuts are also gun nuts, and I like guns myself. You think Obama wants to take away your guns. Well, even if he wanted to, he will be far too busy trying to save us from the ignorance, incompetence, and arrogance of the previous administration to do so. Politics aside, in the interest of reconciliation, let me suggest the Case Eisenhower knife. I'm not sure of the spelling. I was a wee babe when Dwight was Prez, but Case lore claims that he gave this certain model of Case pen knife as gifts to other heads of state with the logo, "Compliments of the President." Maybe you should suggest that our new Prez revive that tradition. I think he will listen.

No, we know that they're one in the same. We've been saying "conservatives" vs "liberals." Liberals are generally the same as democrats, but republicans are NOT at all the same thing as conservatives.
 
You all crack me up. In my home country (I now live in the US), your two parties would both be considered to be on the right wing side when everything is tallied up. But then we had a lot more than two parties, spanning the entire political spectrum.

And you, my American friends, have never seen real lefties :-D

But back to the subject, I think your president should be required to carry a knife and a gun and trained in the use of both, simply because he is the president. But then I also think he shouldn't be paid more than the average wage and it should be considered corruption for a politician to operate a business or accept contributions. Well, its not my country, and I have no say here..

The knife? Something tactical, and a SAK he can whip out when he needs to open a box.. err, give to an aide to open the box, since he is probably not allowed to open boxes.

Incidentally, "Liberal" where I'm from, means someone who has a liberal idea of how the law should function, ie. that everyone should be allowed to do what they want, as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. I'm a liberal in that sense.

That is usually called a "libertarian" position here, as contrasted with "authoritarian." Authoritarians exist on our left and right (D and R) -- they merely disagree on which of your rights need to be taken away for the good of the collective (and the good of their re-election campaign).

You know the correct definition of the word, something few Americans do. This is because in the early 20th Century American big-government socialists started to call themselves "liberals" to get the gullible sheeple to accept their agenda.

The few Americans who know the history of Liberalism often refer to it as "Classical Liberalism."

Leftist politicians don't see it that way, which is why we have so many idiotic anti-knife laws.

Most people I know who support big-government socialists, regardless of which party they belong to, are anti-knife and see whether someone carries a knife as the government's choice.
 
Please, give him a rest and grow up... Mr "O" is respectable and "shoeproof" !!! If he had no knife I'll give him one of mine, maybe my Benchmade CQC7 auto, and YES he CAN kick some *** !

edit: I prefer myself to be in the left despite not being much into politics.. I still like knives. Don't be so two dimensional (I know Obama is still most porpably not an knife person hehe).
