Knife for the wife

well, sitting here WAITING for my knives. I was thinking of getting my wife a small folder of some kind. She's not interested in knives but i think she might discover that it's real handy to always have one.

Now, what/which would you recommend?
Maybe something that is almost as a piece of jewellery or at least looks good.

Don't get her the same knife John Wayne Bobbit got his wife!

My girlfriend really liked my meerkat and it became her meerkat ;) . She since purchased a spider web engraved cricket for herself as well as a pink jester.

She's definately a spyderco fan now.

I would go with the Kershaw Sapphire. The design is very elegant and it cuts very well. It is a real splinter picker.

My wife has Spydie Blue Ladybug, Schrade Simon and LM Squirt S4.
She likes them all :D

Victorinox Classic, or one of their other models in that size.
The Classic has a very wide choice of handle colors, and alox (aluminum) and sterling silver.

I will give you a bladelock for your wife

it seems like a fair deal, Each tp pay the postage. Though I will inspect the goods before sending the knife

Sorry I couldn't resist

My mum likes her blue classic, I know a few girls with classics and they seem to like them

Steel-handled Spyderco Dragonfly (PE). One of the best small folders out there, looks kinda artsy, especially if you engrave your name on the handle.

As sort of an aside to this discussion, why is it that we feel the need to give a woman something different than we would use ourselves? I can understand smaller, because a woman is probably going to be prone to carry something more convenient, but does it really have to be pink (or whatever other odd color)? One of my ex-girlfriends carried a the mini-version of the BM Stryker. If anything I think you would want a better grade of steel since they are lot less likely to resharpen.

I think it's becasue they may not care for their knives so well if they aren't knife nuts. If a woman wants a big knife then she's welcome to carry one. The threads we seem to see are what knife to get a lady who doesn't normaly carry one.

hand her a Benchmade 805 and a pink Spyderco Ladybug, and see which one she (the average woman) picks. you'll have your answer. :)

My wife is highly prone to cutting herself, so for her a sheepsfoot blade with the smallest practical cutting surface is a good idea.

My wife carries a Buck 110 in her purse. Calls it her "mall knife". At first I thought she said "maul knife" . She also carries pink jesters on her keychains. She wants a pink Delica, but I don't want to pay $80 plus shipping to get one from Japan. Occasionally they show up on Ebay. In the meantime I got her a purple Minigrip for Valentine's Day. It will do for now. I know -- I am a hopeless romantic.

Gawd, I hate pink! Vertegris or malachite green, cobalt or lapis blue on the other hand...
