Knife for work guys

these are on the small size, but they are inexpensive. I use them when I fly. Not a heart breaker if I have to donate it to the TSA.

I gave out three Rough Riders to the guys at work, they lov'em, but more importantly carry and use them

husky has a folding utility knife for real cheap and the replacement blades are cheap also just tell then to becareful when using them. while working in the flooring business(mostly carpet) ive seen many guys cut them selfs or a finger off and didnt know it til they saw blood.

lets face it . most of us started out with a cheap shit version of a knife -these are available from HK for around 10AU inc post -AND cool tiger stripe.

Well an Izula is about $60...that's a bit steep for the OP I think...and a waste on non-knife guys.

You say "pass out" so I presume that you gonna give these things to these co-workers as opposed to "lend out"...right?

I wouldn't do that to a sodbuster...pearls before swine kind of a thing.

I think the Rough Rider idea mentioned several times above is the way to go. I got a soon to be Irish In-Law and he's about the most non-knife guy I can think of. We are all going to take a big trip out west together (hike around in the desert and that sort of thing) and I wanted to get the guy an "all-American" knife so I was looking at a Buck or Case Stockman or maybe a Trapper. Long story short, he's not in a postion to appreciate that nice of a knife so I am planning on getting him and "all-American themed" Rough Rider Stockman pattern...for about $15 instead of $50.

If it can be a FB, I agree that the More would be ideal (Probably the SS blade version).

On folders, I'd say one of those safety knives (I guess that's what they're called) with the razors so you can change them out instead of having to sharpen them.

If it needs to be heavier duty, the Byrd line or Spyderco Tenacious comes to mind.

One thing that made me say Sodbuster is it's a slipjoint.

Lots of non knife people will need lessons on closing a locking knife. In my experience, usually multiple times.

Folding utility knives, no need to sharpen.

this is your best bet because guaranteed someone is gonna chip out the blade, break the tip off, use it to cut through steel braid or something else just as stupid.

I'd say look around for a deal on them, the first place I looked has them as low as $4.49 but I think you need to call to see what quantity gets the price that low.

The other reason I say this, the construction on 'em is pretty dang good, and the razors are cheap.

Yeah, I wasn't real clear on the OP's question. If you mean lend out I stand by the Izula suggestion. If you're giving these away I'd go with an Opinel or SAK.

Vic SAK (Explorer) and or the Leatherman Skeletool are tools I use at work almost everyday.

People on here might hate me for recommending this, but how about some san ren mu knives? They rip off some designs but also do some of their own. I've carried one of these since a girl claimed my case trapperlock for herself.

For the price they're GREAT. Good steel with a decent HT, well made, good quality control, cheap in price.

This one is very gentlemen like, non locking i think: here

Then there's this one the infamous sebenza copy

Takes a week or two for shipping from this place
