I work out a lot and hate going without a knife. I was looking for one to keep in the waist band of my basketball shorts.... I wondered if any knives stood out as being comfortable for this

I have uded a Spyderco Native for that kind of work. It's fairly light and you will want a SS blade I would think.

Try Benchmade or Spyderco (If you havent already):jerkit:

They got strong clips for B-Ball shorts

I've got a fully serrated native and a mini grip and they were ok... just wondering if anything else jumped out to you guys

SOG Flash I or II?
SOG Aegis (Has G-10 inbetween the clip and handle -I think-)?

Take a look at those, son.

i ALWAYS have a knife on me-edc, work out knife-pijama knife-i just got a ka bar dozier folding hunter- i only payed 20, don't know how much it costs else where, and its the nicest $20 knife ive ever bought- the only thing that it doesn't beat the native in is the steel, but it's a good size, slim, adjustable pivot, AUS8 blade, reversable pocket clip, weighs less than the native and is yet bigger-lock is better than the native too-as far as taiwan knives go, it's TOP nocth-check it out

I have a trident tanto and got to handle the flashes but wasn't too impressed... Haven't seen any reviews on the aegis. I am not your son though, don't forget it

If you don't mind having something flopping around your neck, you might also consider a light-weight neck knife with a plastic frame and cover, like the Meyerco Neck Lance.

Whats the knife needed for during workouts? (might help establish brand / size)

Go for a Spyderco Salt. You can sweat all over it and it won't rust.

I was waiting for someone to say that.

Salt I would be my pick. Delica sized blade, rust free steel, lock back. Great knife for IWB carry in general.

I would avoid a neck knife for the same reason you avoid all jewelry in the gym.

You dont want it to get caught on anything when it can choke you or rip off digits.

How about a Boker Subcom. It's pretty thin, and not terribly long. Probably would be among the most comfortable knives I can think of to have clipped in the waist of gym shorts.

fourteen replies and no one has suggested leaving the knife in the locker where it belongs...

Seriously, take a break from your knife for a couple hours to work out.

It's kinda hard to do crunches with a frickin Spyderco Military in your pants.

And I thought I was a knife knut.....sheesh :)
