Well, I just got my blade hardened and it's in the oven for the drawback now. I twisted the wrought iron this morning and it looks good for the guard.

The materials just seems to say Camp Knife to me, so that's what I'm making. The blade will settle in at 9 3/4 inch, which is what I like. That gives me 5 1/4 for a handle, keeping within some off the Competition requirements of 15 inches OAL. The blade is a little thicker than 1/4 inch with real nice taper.

I think this will make a real nice user. I still dont know if I'll be completely done by Blade, but we'll see. I'll have the knife or the parts at my table. Lin

I like the the concept you have in mind Lin - I look forward to seeing it in whatever state of completion it is at by Blade.

Man, I am excited!
Thanks for "playing" this with me, guys.
I've certainly thought about it throughout the year, now I'm enjoying seeing it come to a close.
I also know it came at a moment when time is at a premium for Lin, and I'm thrilled he's able to come close, if not finish.
That is cetainly understood with his circumstances.
It's also convenient that Lin and I are seated next to each other so maybe the knives can reside there as a group from time to time for those interested to see.
Can't wait!

Lin's knife is done!
Don't know if he'll have any photos to post before the big show, but I invite one and all to stop by 23-P/23-Q to see what us three outlaws came up with!
We'll get some type of group photos taken to share.
See ya'll in Hot-lanta!

There's nothing like waiting to the last minute, right?!!!

Here are a few quick shots of this knife. Keep in mind it is going to be a user with a somewhat of a field grade finish.

I want to thank Karl and Roger for allowing me to play the game. Lin

that looks damn serviceable! She looks like a really fun knife, I'd like to take er out into the bush for some trail blazin:thumbup:

Servicable is the word. This one is not afraid of fingerprints or scratches. It will see the woods. Lin

That's a winner Lin. I really like a spearpoint profile on a chopper / camp knife. That knife looks pretty much indestructible. And I look forward to finding out how it feels in hand - that handle design looks great!
