I was reading another thread and found a topic that really warranted its own thread. I cut and pasted the post from forum member 300Bucks...

Quote "Let's all have a group hug......NO lets not.....how about all you get get off the computer chair and on the horse and fix up a knife history for the BCCI website. You can do it in teams if necessary. Share records, photos, etc. One person who has a knack compile it all and check Dave's spelling. Several folks who know about writing and processing have volunteered to help someone who is a knife head......Start off with a model that only has a couple of versions to get your feet wet and then eventually tackle the mega-models. Some of you have "hinted" you would but I have seen NO progress, hint, hint B__L. Contact Jack Foresman for some starting information.

Yes, it may be imperfect and maybe only partially complete, but let Joe and others find the mistakes. No one is perfect.
If you keep saying I don't know enough to do it you are just making excuses, you keep doing that and your unique abilities and knowledge will be lost forever when you get run over by the bus..........you can contact me for more ideas and amoral support......Do I have a Amen.......
300Bucks" end Quote.

I encourage you to pick a model and go for it! I can help with some of the information and will make every effort to respond in a timely manner. This is one of the best ways to really get to know one of your personal favorite series.

Thanks Joe,
After we got going , I figured it would get moved.

Now, 334Dave is gonna do some on 110s and folks are talking to him about helping out with computer work. But he could still use some help on knife stuff maybe photos. Come on and join the team.
David Martin has taken on a history and he knows he can call for help here on the forum when he is in need of it.
You know I could name names for knives, but let me hint.....how about someone on 124s, Bowies, Striders, Nighthawks, 112s,111s, and 500s come on you know who you are. You can get info in old Newsletters, and knife magizines if you quote give credit to writers.
Joe can't write these for you, you can talk to each other and find the info need. Even some of the histories that have some information posted could use a little expansion, try helping with those. Like I said: Mount Rushmore was chiseled one nose at a time. Pick a partial history. If you have limited editions then do that , if you have oddballs then do that, if you have a certain tens years of knives then do those. We can combine it all together and make a good history. Lets outdo the Schrade, Camillus and Case history areas, talk to Jack Foresman and then get started.......Come guys its winter, you got the time unless your a hockey player.......300bucks

A very good undertaking by collectors, for collectors. I have lost all my word documents and photos of Buck Knives with an unkind computor crash. Some knives have been sold, and I have a bunch of scribbled notes, but I would recommend to all....print every document or back everything up with a disk....wish I had:(

Joe,CJ ,
I am willing to do Buckmaster 184, Buckmaster LT 185 and Titanium 186 take apart.

Rich,
If you can go to and get on BCCI website, go and leave message for Jack Foresman and he will contact you with what he needs to get to easily get stuff in format. If you can't get him, let me know and I will send you his regular email address. Or he may read this and contact your. Let me speak for him, thanks for stepping up and giving it a shot. I will say the same.

OK 300 Bucks, you have really taken the bull by the horns. I am very impressed with 330 Bucks format on the Model Historys. If everyone will look at his 300 series at the BCCI site and use that as a guide. Do your own thing of course and put it in PDF if possible. No big deal if you don't have PDF as I can easily transfer it. I'm at jforesman@comcast.net and will pleased to help when I can.

I have a open offer to anyone to do editing and desktop publishing. You supply the text and pics and I can edit and put it together so it all looks nice

I'm not in the forum 24/7 so the best way to contact me is email.

334Dave, Dave here is photo of only 110 I got will email it also. I bet all the guys will send you photos when you decide what photos you don't have......just ask.....everyone just remember no bigger photos than 800 pix wide because that is all you can use on websites effectively.
