Knife Ideas for daughter

Really? Not one person suggested a Smatchet? No one? I don't even know where I am anymore! :rolleyes:o_O:p

But seriously, for a young person, I'd suggest a Delica (or other smaller sized Spyderco, as there are several), or perhaps something the lines of a Mini Griptilian, or even maybe a Buck Bantam. My Scouts all enjoyed the Bantams I got them all for Christmas one year!

I let my girls pick out mini grips and customize on benchmades website. Had their names and the date put on the blades.
That's a great idea! I love my Grip and the Mini-Grip would be a great knife for a kid. Getting their names and dates lasered on them makes it even more special!

For a Spyderco the size of a Delica, but with a little sexier styling, check out the Astute. No choil, so good blade/handle ratio. 8Cr, so not the greatest steel, but easy to sharpen. Mine pushes my Sage and Native out of my pocket most days.

I was leaning towards a Spyderco DF2 or Delica. While those are still on the table, she didn't prefer them by appearance.
Sounds like your daughter already has excellent taste at a young age.

I'm with the others who suggested a benchmade bugout, they have a very nice blue one that she will probably like. Benchmade Bugout AXIS Lock Knife Blue (3.24" Satin) 535

Subjectively I'd say Benchmade Bugout (I've EDCed the blue version since 2017), Mini Bugout if you want smaller (the white handle should be easily dyed to blue), or a Benchmade Mini Grip (they used to have a blue stock version that you might be able to find but they also have blue in the custom shop on their website).

However, my ultimate advice is to let her pick. I'd show her all the options brought up on this thread (in person if you can but online if you don't have a store near you), and let her choose what she likes best. We're all knife nuts on this forum, but obviously we all have different preferences and like a variety of different knives. Your daughter will be the same, so let her choose instead of deciding for her. It also adds a fun element because yall can look at the knives together and discuss the merits, etc. So now it's not just a knife; it's an experience with their parent and you get to share a passion with your daughter which is awesome!
