Fine. If it'll get you guys to ease up. Yes, I'm a coder, but I'm not trying to steal code. I'm trying to make a program for me and my friends to play that'll use realistic weapons in gameplay. But the coding's going to take a while. In the meantime, I'm dealing with factual details. I'm taking a lot of inspiration from other games at the moment, including Counter-strike and Gmod. But I like to strive for accuracy, and I want to give the weapons available to us accurate names. So I'm trying to get as close to the knives I already like. Since I'm only going to be using it for me and my friends without distribution, I don't need to worry about the copyright of using real knives. There! Are you satisfied?

So, you want to copy designs for a program that only you and your friends will use, and definitely not something you'll try to sell or put up for torrent by others. Sure thing. Got it. o_O

Since it's something you're just making for "me and my friends", why not just use the designs of these knives you've shown us? This whole thing just makes less sense, the more information we get. Criminy.

If you don't believe me, fine. But that's my answer. That's how I want to do things. Now will you please just let me find my answers? I'm not making any attempt to bother you. If you can't bring yourself to approve of what I'm doing, then just pretend I'm not here. You don't have to like it. But I just want to get this done. I don't like all this conflict anyway. Can we please just bury the hatchet?

Quoted for posterity.

So, you want to steal designs and put them in your game that you're claiming is just for "you and your friends". Got it.

Hey guys, anybody else want to help this kid steal other company's IP? It's just for him and his friends, so no worries. I'm out.

So Danbot, think you can help me with the last two?
Maybe. This one is made by Boker.

I am calm. I'm just baffled.
You are baffled by what ? You come to a Forum where knife nuts congregate and you expect a somewhat sedated answer to a knife related question ? It will never be sedated. So, if you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. Just from me to you, piacere !

Internet is a bitch. So, why you asking around like on a market place ?

Because Bernard Levine told me that the users here were "more knowledgeable" when it comes to identifying knives, and don't charge for it.

Bernard was right. Just get a feeling for the flow and get with it. Just my advice.

I understand what I'm asking for is unconventional, but I never meant to earn to much ire. I've been trying to avoid it. I didn't think people would be this upset over just asking about video game knives. I also think that a lot of people are choosing to ignore the part where I say "I respect for your appreciation for knife design".

This last one is quite generic. There are many, many, many similar to it. here is one.

And yes, if you are using these designs for a video game, the designer/maker needs to be given credit and their permission granted.
