I remember there was a microtech OTF in the movie "mission impossible" the very first one. Not 2 or 3. I think I saw it when Tom Cruise was trying to get inside a room from the ceiling hanging himself upside down.

The movies I will mention are not knife movies, but are movies in which recognizable knives appear, usually briefly:

The Client .. Spyderco Police w/customized SS handle.

Training Day .. SS Spyderco Police.

Jennifer 8 .. SS Spyderco Police.

Cliffhanger .. Spyderco Endura.

Anaconda .. Spyderco Delica.

Entrapment .. Spyderco Delica.

Stir Of Echoes .. Benchmade Spike.

Blade .. Benchmade 3500(?) and Gerber Multitool.

The Avengers .. G10(?) Spyderco Police.

Wrong Turn .. Kershaw Boa (shown very quickly at the beginning).

Day After Tomorrow (is that the right title? About the upper hemisphere freezing) .. CRKT M-16 Tanto.

Black Dog .. Spyderco Delica.

Night of the Hunter .. unnamed switchblade.

The Matador .. William Henry (model name??).

Crocodile Dundee II .. Buck 110 in a criminal's hands.

Payback .. Spyderco Viele (?) and Benchmade(?) Bali-song.

Battle Creek Brawl .. Pacific Cutlery Bali-song.

Needful Things .. Spyderco Police (? It's been awhile).

Does anyone know which knife Matt Dillon used in Crash during the rollover scene? It was an automatic knife. I thought it might be a MOD Mark 1 knife but I can't confirm it as I don't have my DVD with me.

barney, I believe Jimmy Lile made both the principle knives for "First Blood" and "Rambo II". United Cutlery later made knock-offs for about $80 a piece but with nowhere near the stamina of the custom originals.

Almost forgot Platoon with a bunch of cold steel product, tantos n push daggers on Dafoe n Berengers web gear, you have to watch for them though.

Do you guys know of any good movies with knives in them?

"The hills have eyes"
"The Patriot" (the good one, with Mel Gibson.)
"Gangs of New York"
"Big trouble in Little China" (I think I saw a couple of Ghurkas)
"Commando"
"Predator"
"The Chronicles of Riddick"
"southern Comfort"
"The Green Berets" (Lots of Ka-bars, and a good knife fight.)

Cold Steel products in the platoon? Sounds odd. Maybe I missed the tanto, but Berenger has his push dagger out and it looks like, well, a push dagger. It looked like a "wild west" push dagger to me, even if the safe keeper 2 is very reminiscent of the old style push daggers.

There is an icelandic film called "When The Raven Flies" or "Flight Of The Raven" (original title "Hrafninn flýgur") or something like that where they don't do much else apart from killing each other with knives, throw knives, and so on. They use a lot of large heavy blades, some kukri or smatchet like almost, as I recall it, I have not seen it in a long time. It is almost like a very violent spaghetti western, only in a viking setting.

The first Under Siege with Steven Seagal has a couple of kitchen scenes where throwing knives are used and it ends with a knife fight between Seagal and Tommy Lee Jones.

IIRC, the second Under Siege also ends with a knife fight.

A "goof" indeed. Was it a safe keeper he used then?
