Here is number 15 and I still need to go and polish up the exposed part of the tang. It is 3/16 ATS34 with cocobolo handles. It is a little over 9" long

I hope I am showing improvement on each one I do. Everybody goes on about how nice they are and all but it is all of you guys' opinion that means the most to me in knowing what I need to improve on. Thanks guys.

Really great knife Pancho!! I am not an expert, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

Now that's a great finish! Excellent profile, too! As a minor critique (not that my opinion matters much) but the handle is a little blocky for my taste. I'd take a little more off the front and leave a swell in the center and at the butt. Just my taste. That is a really excellent package for only being your 15th!

Dang Frank you are too good. Looks like loveless bolts on that dude. Is that right? No matter it's a great knife.

I agree w/Erik, and want to add, PLEASE get rid of that angled part @ the choil/ricasso area! You have a really nice profile there but that really kills it. Very distracting to the eye. Sorry only have a couple mins to write before work and no time to sugar coat. :D
Nice knife though:thumbup:

It is a clean and good looking knife, great in size and profile. All I can critique about it is you may go for distal tapering for these kinds of knives, it really improves the balance and the feel in hand. Not that it is not good without distal taper but for that meaty handles and thick steel it is a great bonus for a handmade knife and also taper shows the imporvement of your skill...

Love, LOVE the blade shape. The handle profile is great as well. Overall a great knife design. I agree with Matt about the angled portion coming off of the finger groove into the ricasso. I think it does disrupt the flow a bit. But that is really just a personal preference. I know what you were going for there as a kind of integral guard, but the deep finger groove will be more than sufficient. Take a piece of black tape and cover the little protrusion there and look at the profile (create a flat-bottomed ricasso with the tape). See what YOU think about it, and then you can decide to keep or remove. Once it's gone, it aint coming back. :D

Also, I prefer a bit thinner handle as well. At least maybe look at tapering the front of the scales a bit so that there's not as abrupt a transition from the scales to ricasso. I really think that it will add to you work and make the end result look more finished.

And the tapered tang is a nice idea on a full handled knife like this to add to balance.

Great job, though. Really like the design.

Nice knife Pancho , I think you should space your pins a little farther apart and have the top of the handle at the spine a little longer .

The picture is one of Brian Goode's knifes . I think that handle shape and pin arrangement would have looked great on your new piece .

Hey, bud. You done good work, mi amigo. Take all of this with a ginormous grain of salt. We all got opinions and we all got armpits. Some smell better than others, but even that's up to interpretation.

Anyway, you should be very proud of that work. Just know none of us are trying to come down on you at all or pop any bubbles.

This is the kind of feed back I need. I gots thick skin I can hack it. I now realize that design is just as important as fit & finish and will be implemented on the next batch. Thanks guys!

Sweet looking knife. Well done! Now if you could just progress on the quality of your photos as well...we could see the dern thing more betta!

Heck, you've got fit and finish down, it looks like. Your knife looks very clean and well finished. That's the hard part for most new makers! Design is the easy and the fun part ;).

Pancho your finish does look really good. I agree with the handle comments. It needs to have a taper to it or atleast a palm swell in it. I like the blade design a lot. I even like way you did "the little pointy thing". It just goes to show that a lot of what anybody says is personal taste. Great package, it really looks good.

Looks good. I really like the handle profile.
Also glad you got some good feedback on this one. That is what helps us new guys, I know I like it when I get it.
