Knife sharpening service fail (with pics)

On a previous different thread, I gave "constructive feedback" to the OP. But in your case, I can understand your disappointment. Did you have any communication with the vendor prior to sending him your knives besides a generic "sharpen my knives please?"

At $27, I assume he spent at most 15 minutes per knife and as others said, using a belt sharpener, maybe even less time.

And despite the picture that Josh posted, I don't understand the "sharpening" that was done on what looks like the "serrated" portion of the knife.

You've gotten good advice in this thread about communicating with the vendor to make it right for your satisfaction. Good luck.

Should have spent $30 on a sharpener and done it yourself. The knife shop near my house charges $1 per inch and it's done on a wheel.

Don't mean to sound rude or a Smart Ass but did you ever think it is time to learn how to do your own sharpening. It's not all that hard and you don't have to spend a lot of money on a couple of good sharpening stones. Best of luck.

Whatever you do, don't send them back to the same butcher for a second go at it or you deserve what you get. I think the PM would make a good candidate for you to learn how to re-profile an edge. You might even be proud of your work after your finished with it.
