Knife Storage (How do you store your knives?)

First of all, I hope this is not in the wrong forum. I was just wondering how everyone stores their knives. I used to just have my knives laying around all over the place. At that point, I did not own a knife that was worth more than $20. It was not until 2 months ago I started to get into better knives. At that point, I realized that I needed to have a place to store my knives and the equipment I use to take care of them.

I started off by buying some liner for my dresser drawers. I bought it so the knives and other stuff would not move around in the drawer.

Then I put in some push lights in the back of my drawer for when it is night time and I want to get a knife. I mostly added it for the cool effect though. A lot of these knives are nothing special. Most of them are CCC but the have sentimental value to them. These days I have bought better knives and fallen in love with Spyderco.

That is awesome dude! I love those lights, it gives a fancy touch to the collection ;).

I need to buy a cool storage for my collection because as of now, all 15 of them lay on top of my dresser. Any Ideas? My dresser is filled up unfortunately :-/

Either in their original box on a dedicated closet shelf or in the case of my EDC rotation, in these:

I used to have mine laying out but what I was going to buy was a nice sized craftsman tool box. They have an all plastic one with 4 drawers at sears. I was very close to buying one of those. If money is tight for you like it is for me, I would say to sacrifice a drawer. This all costed me about 15 dollars to do.

Am using a cantilever toolbox with padding on the bottom of the trays. Deeper center section is holding sheaths, stones, etc.. with slipjoints on top.

If that's the liner material I'm thinking it is, keep an eye on it. I find the stuff starts sticking to whatever you have on it. Especially when it gets warm. I replaced mine with a cork liner.

can send you a pic!! anyhow at Walmart they sell small plastic meshed bins they are 2.25x6x10 in. ~$3 if you store the knives in on the back edge of the knife you can put them in side by side (I store appx.13-15 pocket knives per box)with thin cardboard strips (so they won't scratch each other)also you can lay a piece of felt on the bottom to avoid scratching there as well.

you can also stack these on top of each other with 1/4" slats on each end right now I just have a few pcs. of cardboard in the bottom tray and it works good .I can email a pic if your interested.

Nice collections, some eye candy here.. I store my blades in original boxes except for the 6 or 7 blades I rotate between for edc, and those I store in cotton pouches or lined up. Automatics I store open in cardboard boxes so as not to wear out the springs. And Sheaths are all in a seperate box. OP, you might want to store your fixed blades out of sheaths. Leather retains moisture, and we all know where moisture and air lead... especially on carbon steel blades.. -hayes

i store mine in the corpses of my enemies. or in a dresser drawer in their boxes. no photos but i have a video on my youtube channel

Old pictures, but the storage case is still the same. Old watch crystal storage case from an estate sale. I have a gun safe with shelves for my fixed blades and sheathed folders.
