Knife Storage (How do you store your knives?)

Pegboard. Specifically if you like Spyderco, but you can arrange things on hooks using small lanyards as well.

You get to see most, if not all of your knife collection every time you look in that direction.

This is what I use. It's an old wooden tool chest I picked up at a local auction, I also lined the drawers with black faux leather to help keep the knives from sliding around and scratching. It has a great look to it and a lot of character I think.

Sorry for the crappy pics... cell phone cameras do not work well with unnatural light. :o

I frequent the local auctions and when I saw this I knew it would be perfect for my knife storage. I think I paid about $50 for it. These auctions also tend to have some nice antique knives as well which is where I picked up the WWII era Ka-Bar as well as the Ontario knife that are in the second photo.

A few Tupperware boxes in various locations based on use. Nothing fancy but I make sure they see sunlight a few times a year!

Well that's a damn nice box there... sometimes I feel like I live in the wrong place...

I was actually going to suggest a few places if you were in the area... Then I noticed your location :-) unfortunately I'm not real familiar with the auctions in Hawaii. If you're ever visiting this side of the country though I would be happy to suggest some good places :-)

I posted this in a similar thread last month but here it is again:

I store my knives in a three level Gershner machinist's chest:

It is proudly displayed in my living room and is a pretty good match for the rest of the decor in that section:

Wow! That looks incredible. I may have to find something like that soon if my collection keeps growing. I'm running out of room in my chest, but I'm not complaining ;-)

Very nice! I'm jealous... :o

I like the kanabo too; it looks frighteningly effective. :D:thumbup:

Just got this chest for Christmas, which then spurred me to purchase the shelf to put it on. Not bad, but i need some more knives to fill her up.

This is what I'm aspiring to... Where do you keep the sheaths for your fixies?

I had intended to use the "fat drawer" of the middle cabinet but since the other drawers are mostly full now I'm starting to use that one as well. The sheathes are back where they started in the bedroom.

This thread is going to cost me! Those machinist boxes are beautiful, now I'm going to have to have a Gerstner. I've been wondering how to store my watches, knives, and such. This has been very inspirational, thanks for the ideas:thumbup:

I used to keep all my knives in three of the four jewelry drawers of our bedroom dresser but even with the folders closed they were getting too full and the wife would not give hers up. When I showed her these cabinets she told me "that would look good in the living room". Needless to say, I didn't waste any time getting them into that exact spot :eagerness:
