Knife storage

So my collection has gotten to the point I can no longer keep them in my night stand. I’ve got roughly 45-50 knives I think and I’m looking for some storage method I can put in my nightstand drawer or on top of my dresser. I try to rotate my carry often and would like to have easy access to multiple “drawers” if possible. What are y’all using these days besides the pelican style cases.

I use two nylon Boker knife vaults. One black and one brown. Both are the smaller units that only hold six knives. Anything more than those twelve knives hide in a big metal file cabinet.

Boker also makes a larger one that holds ten or twelve knives.

They are not very much money and all would fit nicely in a nightstand drawer.

I was about to answer with the Pelican 1500 + 44 slot foam for knives, until I read your last words "...besides Pelican cases".:)

Heck I'm going to recommend it anyway as I still think it's one of the better ways to go. You can quickly lock it and stash it for peace of mind when you're not around. You can easily move your entire rotation into another part of the house, say for example to your garage or work bench for a sharpening/cleaning session.

About 12 years ago and in another house, I used to keep my collection in a drawer in my study. We lived in a gated community, in a great town with very low crime rate. But there was a brief period where our subdivision experienced several home burglaries. My house was one that was hit. The scum made off with the usual jewelery, cameras, electronics, and guess what else? Yup my knife collection. Luckily my guns were locked up in a very heavy safe bolted to the floor.

Pelican 1500. I use two of them. When we're out of town they go into the safe.

I use the BladeHQ wraps. I have 3. I break them up as Traditional, Modern/Tacticool, and SAK. I keep them in my safe, mainly for humidity control.

I do a weekly EDC rotation with one traditional and one modern. Every Sunday night, I have a ritual that I do. I put oil on the 2 knives I used the prior week, then I open up the wraps and choose 2 for the upcoming week and put away the prior weeks selection.

I have a small nylon zippered case at the moment.

but when i get more..im going to buy what Nick Shabazz has. search on youtube Nick Shabazz knife storage.

There are a lot of drawer dividers available. This is my kitchen kit and folder storage. 45-50 knives are a challenge but maybe find some slotted plastic boxes.

These are two different sized and configured bamboo drawer dividers and knife rack. The knife rack may be cheap enough to modify for your needs.

Home Depot has a Husky 20 inch, 3 drawer, small metal portable tool box with drawers and tray.

Both the Lowes and Menards equivalent are more expensive (even with the 11% off coupon at Menards).

Add some shelf liners from the dollar store.

Search "multiple drawer knife case" online. A few options from simple wood construction to nicer offerings with clear tops on the drawers.

My wife gave this to me for my birthday last year.
She got it at Harbor Freight for about $70.

It's all wood and has a door that slides out from the bottom to lock the entire chest ( under the last drawer). The door is felt lined and can be slid out and used as a work surface.
All the drawers are felt lined and the two top drawers have wood dividers

That’s nice. I might have to take a look at one of those. Hopefully they come in darker colors.
