I've only bought knives through two online dealers, New Graham and Knifecenter. I discovered Knifecenter first, before I even found this forum, and bought at least eight of nine knives with no problems. The last time however I ended up canceling my order because I was frustrated waiting for my knife to arrive. I got an email stating the knife had been shipped two day air, after two weeks I emailed them telling them that if they hadn't shipped the knife yet to cancel my order. They replied the knife was in the mail and I should receive it soon but after another week they emailed requesting more info on my payment method, I replied and just told them to cancel my order. I got another email stating that the knife had just been mailed out, when I spoke to someone at knifecenter asking how the knife could have been mailed twice they admitted they had made a mistake and hadn't mailed it yet. :grumpy: Needless to say I canceled my order and probably will give New Graham my business from now on (so far they've been great). I'm stumped though because as I said I've done a lot of business with Knifecenter and never had any problems until now. I've heard AG Russell is a reliable on line vendor and will be making a purchase from them soon. Hope this helps
if you're just looking try bladeart.com knifeart.com and arizonacustomknives.com
i've never ordered from any of them. when i buy expensive knives (about 1/10,000 as often as i'd like to) i generly do it at shows, but if you just want to look, then look at some of the best stuff going. ooooohhhhhhh pretty knives.......
Everybody mentioned above is good. My all-around favorite is NewGraham.com. I really enjoy working with Billy at Vintageknives.com and he has great, hard-to-get offerings, especially Doziers. For fancy knives I really shouldn't be buying, I have found Seth at BladeArt.com excellent (and always busy). Treemanknives.com has a great fixed blade selection and Jim is a stand up guy (and also an excellent maker). Bill Horn at Cumberland Knife Works is my go to man for Queen/Schatt & Morgan and John at JohnFJensen.com for discontinued Spydercos (he has other knives available as well).
Geez...I feel like I just made an Oscar acceptance speech...
Good luck and have fun!
Steve
Far and away my favorite knifestore. If I can find a knife on their page, I don't even look around anymore. Their prices are VERY competitive and the service is so good that I would even buy somewhere else, even if I could save a few extra bucks somewhere else.
yet, but the owner is a common guest on the bladeforums and from my brief exchange with him on some threads here I wouldn't hesitate to order from him. He appeared to be a very friendly, knowledgeable and honest person.
