knife vs lava

Good luck on promoting your YouTube channel and your $53 SCHF43 heirloom knife here!?

Just showing people something they have never see on YouTube. I take pride in being from Hawaii. I love it here and I'm having a blast making YouTube video about my life here. The jungle is a place one must have good knife and machete skills. Bladeforums is da perfect forum for anyone living in Hawaii

Dave....very entertaining video. It is nice to see people having fun and exposing us to something new. Life is form over fashion and you seem to be using a tool best suited to your environmental and chosen lifestyle....thanks again....JW

Yea some people can be real jagoffs, ignore em. Heck, I liked the video! I'd start a youtube channel, "Stuff I can stick in Lava!"

Pretty darn neat. Thanks for sharing......and be safe.

I don't think telling a local boy who knows more about lava than us should say anything but cool videos! Welcome to BF..

Of course you should change your name to lava man :) 🔪🔪🔪

Some of us may have degrees in geology and lived a year or two or more in Hawaii and seen the lava flows too. Remember, when conversing with strangers you really don't know who you are conversing with. Jus' sayin'.

Shooooots brah!! I've been evacuated twice both times the lava completely covered the house. I've seen lava shooting thousands of feet in the air. lava flow a mile wide and going 30 miles an hour. glass raining from the sky yeah a bunch of Land Before Time stuff LOL mahalo

yeah but when you basically call someone a liar that doesn't go over too well with most people. if you would just watch the video that proves the knife was not hurt and maybe you'd see. here it is again "post lava torture test"

Show me where I called anyone a liar. You can't.

Perhaps you should learn how to deal with it when another disagrees with you.

I seriously doubt basaltic lava at flow temperatures will not screw with blade steel's temper. Flowing basaltic lava will run between ~900F and ~2200F. The hotter it is the more orange and faster it flows.

Here.

You may not have flat-out called him a liar, but you're taking something that was clearly presented for fun, in a light-hearted manner, far too seriously. As he said, it's a $53 knife that he's never going to sell. Who cares if he pokes it in lava and (maybe) ruins the temper? Who cares if he pokes it in hydrochloric acid and cow manure? It's his knife. What's the big deal? Why do you care so much?

This. Just relax, move on and let us enjoy this fun lighthearted thread.

I come to the forum to actually relieve the stress of day to day, rude people, intense traffic, insurance companies that don't pay claims either completely or promptly. I have no concern what other people do with their knives. I concern myself with things that effect me or my family.

That said davehear, I enjoyed your video. Didn't think you ruined the temper on your knife as I thought the lava wasn't on the blade long enough to do harm. And if it did, well it's YOUR knife. My only concern was that you didn't hit a soft spot with your foot:o

You show restraint and respect in your replies and that I truly respect. Welcome and bring on the videos Lava man:cool::thumbup:
