Anyone willing to admit they own a knife that seems to always get bad press in the forums, but seem to constantly end up in your pocket? I've been buying spyders emersons and benchmades almost exclusively for the last 3 years about 15-20 total, but the SOG flash II i picked up on sale is constantly seeing pocket time.

5.11 Tarani designed huge ass thick liner locking drop point pse folder. It is a tank of folder and BEST liner lock I own barn none. keepem sharp

Gerber gets a lot of bad press here, but my Gator II is one of my favorite outdoor folders. Tough as nails, real ergonomic handle and a functional bladeshape. No matter how much i beat and abuse it it just wont die! Still locks up tight after all these years too.

SOG Seal 2000. Soft steel but remained tied on to my LBV for almost 8 years. Takes a razor edge, it just doesn't last very long. Here's some pics of my old and new field knife. (contractors get paid a bit better than soldiers)

I've had a Gerber F.A.S.T. for about 2 years now. I has held up great. Mostly cutting up boxes and general use stuff.
Light for its size and carries really deep. Ive bought much more expensive knifes but I do like this one. I took it apart and I think the lock-up is pretty decent, actually. I don't recommend taking one apart though. It was a pain to reassemble

I carry my sog kilowatt a lot, but thats because I do a lot of wiring. It's a great knife and I love it, but Sogs get a bad rap. I don't like that some are made in China, Taiwan, etc. The kilowatt is from Taiwan but still a very good knife. I also have a Sog Seal Pup from Seka Japan, It is an awesome knife.!!! And last but not least the Sogzilla. A friend got it for me, I know a lot of people say they copied the design, maybe they did, but it is still a super sharp, well made knife, that wont break the bank or even come close.
I buy what I like and can afford, I try and put American Knife manufactures first because, I hated that Camillius went under.:( And would hate to lose another. Sogs aren't bad, I just wish they could make them here. My 2 cents.

SOG Flash II with the "arc-lock". Get's a lot of hate for blade play and weak lock, both of which are true.
But I carry it every day because it's light, easy to sharpen, and the low ride pocket clip doesn't draw alot of attention.
And I got it cheap, about 40 bucks off ebay. After that I found them at lowes for about the same price, so I would definitely replace it if need be.

Before that I carried a Gerber F.A.S.T, which also has a few flaws. But I carried that for about 2 years before I retired it.

I have some Mtechs that I hate to admit are actually very good. They have great f&f and seem to be overall well made. I just keep them hidden. :p

I don't own one because the majority of folks feel this guy is a piece of garbage, but I've always wanted a Brad Duncan Whiplash. I just can't bring myself to buy one yet. Too many people hate the guy and his business practices. I should probably just pick one up. I mean I own Microtechs and I know that many a knife nut despises Anthony Marfione.

Well, I hate Emersons, and carry one everyday. But they don't really have bad publicity. I just hate the tacticool hype but find the desighn to be exceptional and the fit and finish are nice as well.

crkt m-16 take it with me EVERY time i go surfperch fishing at the beach, hasn't let me down once. even doubles as my oyster shucker when i need one
good thread by the way

Just out of curiosity, what's the deal with Anthony Marfione?

Most of my knives are much hated by the elite on this forum. SOG, Ontario, S&W, Gerber. Makes me feel so bad.
