Well, this year we took on the production line, and also the move from hell which took 6 months. These factors made it very difficult to get to the Guild Knives. I started them this summer, and yesterday with 3 finished and 6 close, I mangled the grind on two. I put them down. I didn´t think I had the belts on hand to fix the problems I had in the last 6 knives much less those two new problems. James Poplin is a saint though, and he shipped them to me yesterday assuring me priority mail would get it there this am. I got in early this morning, started with marking, and then moved to re-grind the two knuckleheads from scratch. Around 10 am the belts showed up and I got all 6 completely finished by 1. I was pretty sure yesterday I was not going to have the knives to be judged. Now I have them done. Thank God. Now, wish me luck. Ill post pics next week. I did post pics of two, both Handyman, at Instagram this morning.

Andy:

Where there's a will, there's a way. Glad to hear that you were able to get them finished up. Rest assured that we'll all be rooting for you. Best wishes for a successful outcome in K.C.

Safe travels,

Peter

All of them look great! Won't be any problem getting through the Guild process with those. Pop is the best, especially in a pinch.
See ya at TR.

I just saw the instagram pics. Those are 2 beautiful knives. Well done Andy!

Very nice knives. Enjoyed seeing them on IG this morning. Good luck with them. I don't think you need a lot of luck though :-)

Luck not needed. You got this thru hard work and dedication. I have no worries you will earn it.

I'm sure that there will be critiques and issues. Anything less would not be pushing you upward. Ultimately that's the point of a guild or profession, to make everyone better. Are they the best you can do, or are they the best you can do now? It's the journey and not the destination. If you went all in, then you'll be fine. Oh, and pictures!!!!

Good Luck, Andy Roy! I know you kicked butt and took names! Look forward to seeing pictures!

I'm glad to hear it Andy. I was hoping yesterday went well for you and it sounds like it did. I don't think you'll have any trouble at all getting into the Guild, and in fact I think they'll be a better organization with you as one of their members.
