Hello,

I just made a knifemaking video for our website. Actually it's just 1/3 of series. This part is about adding the handle, finishing up the knife and making the sheath. Later on I'll do blade making and engraving videos too.

I tried to make it as interesting as possible and cut it down as much as I could, not to bore people. So if you have any suggestions about anything in this video then please let me know. It could be anything - the making process itself or the video.

Voiceover is by my darling wife.

Enjoy!

Awesome. Just love it. Your hands and your wife's voice, what a GREAT combination! I just wanted to see more, and more, and more...

The composition was excellent and creative (maybe just a little dark in some areas though). The bit with the clock added a little touch of whimsy. I liked seeing how you did things with the leather. For instance punching holes in it with your dill press and grinding it on the hand belt sander turned on its side. I don't think I would have been able to keep the leather as clean as you did.

Looking forward to your seeing your others. THANKS!!!

Keith and Phyl, thanks for your kind comments!

Actually the hands were not mine, they belong to my father, mine are about 50% smaller :). I was just the cameraman in this part of the making. The blade was co-operation with us and engraving will be my solo part.

With the darkness part I agree with you. In some parts it was intentional, like soldering, but on the others... Well... This is just my second try on making anything with video, so I still have lots to learn.

I am excited to see the engraved knife, please post pics when it is done!

I thought it was great!! Three thumbs up! Thanks for taking the time to produce and post it here! I've watched it like three times and hope to watch it again when I get some more free time!!! Thanks again.

thank you,its so great to watch videos,i like to see even the small parts of the building. i get to see how things are done. even if you read about it not everything clicks in my mind. like how the front bolster is soldered. also how you can scribe with a set of calipers....willy

thanks a million for that great video! You make it look easy! paul

Great Job, my friend. The video is spetacular.
Could you put a photo of your stencil?

Regards.

Thank you all for your kind words! It seems from the feedback that the 3rd try in video making looks already quite watchable :)

What type of welding process did you use to weld the tang?

Welding was done with inverter welder. At least that is what they call it here. It's very small welder unit, but creates very clean weld. Maybe you know better how it's called, unfortunately I don't know.

I will try to take a photo of it during the weekend and then post it. But it was just ordered from img-electromark based on photoshop file I sent them.
