We don't really need to hear the results of this really bad award show. Voting for knives people never used or handled is pretty bs for any award. They won't even give reasons why they chose the winner. It's all based on brand favorites or the way the knives appear in looks to the voters.

Did you ever vote for the NHL, NFL, MLB All Star Game Players? Same thing.

If you are not interested, don't click on the thread link.

Can't help but feel that these things are almost always rigged. It's glaringly obvious by some of the choices above. Knives I literally NEVER hear mentioned on any relevant forums.

Who are the readers? Certainly no one I've met on dedicated knife forums...

Dedicated knife forums are not the be all and end all. There are probably 5 accounts that control everything here. They set the tone of every thread and bash anyone and anything they do not like. You need a pretty thick skin to be here and post over time....because you will become a target.

Haha, I know EXACTLY what you're talking about Tommy.

I'm not here to bash your thread. I just wouldn't have chosen the aforementioned knives personally and haven't heard much mention of them in the community. Some of them, of course.

I don't know where that site advertises, so I don't know how they are found by their readers, and I do not know of the impact over the knife industry. They keep a pretty good pulse on the knife industry. I go there every day to read their lead story.

Yea.... YOU are not one of those accounts, but you see it too. There are tons of open minded people on forums, and I'm on and off forums all day all over the place. It just takes a few bad apples to set the overall tone. I just want to chat abt knives that I plan to buy/collect...or even the ones I cannot afford! I thought the article would be of interest.

With sports you see how they did through the year and vote on performance. Here your voting on nothing. So the winner is not a true winner in any sense. It's just a popularity contest based on opinions of what a product looks like or brand popularity. It's not about the knives at all. So awards are meaningless in this respect. Even the knives in the categories to choose from are hilarious to say the least.

For instance, bladeshow has judges that handle the knives at the show and vote on each one for each category. Here we don't even have that.

We have a single guy or even a single company choosing things for the list that they know nothing about and letting random people who don't know anything about theses knives. I'd bet very few people voting actually bought all three of those said knives in each category to compare them.

Readers choice awards... Are not legit awards and the winner isn't a winner of anything.

Also is knifenews even a supporting vendor here?

KnifeNews IS KNIFE NEWS from all around the world. BladeForums folks are from all around the world as is everything posted here. BladeForums is a global exchange of ideas.

Are you some kind of dictator abt what can be discussed here? Why not allow people to enjoy the benefits of being a member of BladeForums and have fun discussing knives?

The knives stats are well known and their performance is predictable without ever handling the knives. I've never been to a knife shop, and never handled any knife prior to buying it. I buy firearms the same way, looking at stats and videos before going to the shop that has them and buying them.

I've never played in the NFL, MLB or NBA but I vote according to who I like, not their stats.

Thin skinned and passive-aggressive at the same time, you both must be new to the internet and human contact.

You seem to be rather fond of the military so I'll assume you've been in it, did your DS or DI give one iota of a crap about your opinion on anything, well the internet as a whole is your DS/DI.

Nice to meet you too.

I've probably been on Intranets and Internet since before you were born.

I tried to join the US Marine Corps in 86 and was bounced for a heart murmur which I had fixed with open heart surgery.

On the first I highly doubt, for the second did your DI care about your opinion on anything?

I bought the Paramilitary 2 based on reviews, stats, Youtube vids, forum recommendations, and more reviews. It should be the perfect knife. Right? Wrong. Once I got it in my hands/pocket, and was able to use it in my own work/EDC environment I hated it. I even gave it a year in my regular rotation to see if I could get used to it. Nope, still hated it. Were all those reviewers wrong? Am I a freak (probably)? My point is that I went through your entire criteria for purchasing a knife and still disliked it.

So the following statement is based on personal experience and not heresay. Please don't get offended, but I find that everything you said in the above quote to be a big fat load of self absorbed, pretentious horse sh**.
