Really hot today here in LA, feel like summer again.

Have a good one everyone!

Mornin' y'all. Congrats on the good lookin bitch Liam.My Dog decided to keep me up till 3-4 this morning by just acting like a wack job! She just would not stop licking her feet and then liking the floor AND THEN she started tearing up a wool blanket , she never tears things up.? I did every thing I could think of I hit her ,kicked her , burned her with cigars and still she was acting strange.JUST KIDDING ABOUT THE LAST PART!!! Holy crap I just walked into the front room and she (Rilley) chewed the corner off of my wife's new rug. Jen is going to be sooooooooo pissed! Rilley is laying in the sun sleeping like a baby right now. Sorry, back to sharp things. Here is a old pic of my DFK mini cleaver.

Hey guys, I was wondering what shipping time was usually like from Mr Fairly? I just bought my first knife from him, a Titanium Backpacker, Friday night and was wondering if it would make it in by Monday before Thanksgiving. I tried to contact him through e-mail, but I guess I got caught in his spam filter or something. Thanks in advance!

Welcome!

I'm sure Daniel will be along soon, but there has never been any complaints of delivery issues from anyone over 300-400 knives or so that I can remember!

Afternoon guys! Went to the park this morning with the metal detector, managed to dig up $2.28. Not bad for a couple hours walk on a nice day! At this rate, I'll be able to retire when I'm 167! Eh, as long as I pay the machine off with the findings I'll be happy! Not many hobbies can do that with such little effort!

Daniel gets what I believe to be hundreds of emails, probably a day? Imagine how many knives he could make if he had someone else taking the time to answer them all. :P

He needs some oompa loompas, stat!

Hi and welcome to Bladeforums!

I'll make sure it gets there on time, sorry for the shipping delay. Talk to you soon... still back and forth from the shop tonight with a long day of heat treating and not up on today's mail.

Nice! How's that for customer service. :)

Also, that mini-cleaver up above is pretty sweet looking. I've been on a traditionals kick, but once I swing back around, I definitely need to grab a Fairly or three. Maybe if he does another friction folder? *hint. hint.*

Hey guys!

I'm on something like hour 14 today with heat treat still on!

Pocket Fighters and more... 3V and 52100 with a bit of cpmd2 in the mix.

I looked it over well and have to say, darn I'm proud! :D

Thanks FBC... nice pic!

Hi Liamstrain! :D I have been a bit slow lately but should have the knife train running at full steam soon! :D

Thanks Xander!

Metal detecting... cool! I have been interesting in getting a good one for years, fun stuff and I live in a good area for it. I want a gold pinpoint wand thingy... lol forget what they are called. ...hey that is a profitable hobby, not too shabby!

lol I really do... if I ever forget to answer one just write back, I get a new page a day usually... sometimes read late at night and then forget to answer...

oh yeah I need to write you back on the CAD lol! so far looking killer but I need to take a very close look, been distracted here! I do have some knives for you

Daniel, this is my last ditch effort to convince you to make me a frikky. I think I've forgotten one or two here. ...I might have a problem. Is there rehab for this?

^cool stuff!

It will happen! :D I started a new one and promptly broke a tap... have it soaking in acid and back on soon!

Morning!

Spending my morning doing some writing...

I highly suggest every man read and learn "If" by Rudyard Kipling.

It really helps me keep my cool when I have to redo what the plumber did the other day  he put the new shower valves in backwards, its a three knob setup with lever knobs. Wouldn't be an issue if they were round knobs, but know they turn in towards th center knob and I can't turn the center knob on while the outside ones are turned. So, gotta swap them. But, atleast the parts are already here, don't have to go hunt them down myself. That was what prompted me to call the plumber, I had a hell of a time finding the right valves for this older stuff!

Ugh, getting ready to go to work.

Daniel, metal detecting is fun! I do what is called "coin shootin" searching for money. They do make detectors specifically for finding gold ore to be panned. Also artifact hunting is fun, but highly regulated. I bought my machine for $40 used and it was a $200 machine new, its a good working unit too, I forget the model, but its a Radio Shack one.

U rawk, Daniel!
I've been splitting wood and carrying water. Life's Good. :D

Nice! We have been splitting a lot too as the stove is going now, luckily this year they aren't full rounds! I want to go to the desert and collect some Pinion branches if I can.

Carrying water... from well? Have a good one Rolf!

Hearing that you're working on 3V and D2 right now sends chills down my spine! WOoooo!
They are all ht'd and ready to go! :D I should have some steel to going to you tomorrow when we go to the Post Office.

I was up until way late but they came out nice and straight with no issues which always feels good! I have 6 in CPM3v and 3 in 52100 coming up here too... Pocket Fighter Variants and the like, I hope to finish a few before I take off to see my Dad. :D

Nice! Looking good...

I used to collect rocks for a living as you know and my buddy owns a local gold mine (with 400,000 0z of estimated reserves!) ... there is a lot of precious metal to find here and I almost got my own gold claim for a while there. I know where a pile of tailings from the 1890's is here, my buddy had a claim there and they worked it for years for a living. You have to roast the gold to get it out of the rock and it is a tricky process, very different from the norm. A gold wand helps but I want to find random stuff for fun really...

A few years back someone detecting found the foundation of an old cabin complete with all the miners possessions buried under the floor in pristine condition!

You come across lots of artifacts here, painted pottery shards in the desert... arrowheads and once I saw a "war club" (really used to crush bone and grains for food) There was a ring of locals busted for selling artifacts! I have enough rocks already, lol no artifacts!

My buddy worked with UNM and located several dinosaurs including a complete Triceratops they restored... alligator skulls are common as well as turtles. Lots of stuff to find here!

Out in the desert there is hematite everywhere, I wonder if I could smelt it into a knife? :D

I'm taking the day off as it is my Birthday... steaks and beer later! :D
