I started reading this thread, and then realized that it was almost 40 pages... so i skipped a whole bunch and decided to post my opinion on knifetests.com , and I'm sure my opinions have been repeated somewhere in this thread
I honestly dont see what is wrong with knifetests.com. sure, it may not be a very practical way of evaluating knives for most, but for someone who is purchasing a knife based on how much abuse it can take, knifetests does a decent job at showing that. sure, its not entirely scientific, and sure it doesnt do a great job of measuring cutting performance (although the apple slices and nylon strip cuts do help) but for the person who will possibly need a knife to stand up to some ridiculous level of abuse, knifetests.com is the only thing out there that attempts to show the buyer at what point the knife will potentially fail.
