Knifeworks, good place to make a purchase?

I guess I'm lucky. I have bought 3 Manix XL's from KW. Two s90v's and one s30v.Not one problem with the way they packed or shipped with any of them. All Spyderco boxes where in great shape. KnifeWorks is always my first go too online vender when looking for a new knife.

You're definitely lucky. Spyderco should probably look into getting more appropriate boxes- more of my Spyderco boxes have some kind of tear or defect than those that do not, but in this case the knife tore both sides of the inner box and was starting to slide out of the Spyderco box (it never got its shot at the USPS small flat rate lol).

It wouldn't bother me one bit (blasphemy!!) aside from the resale value and the fact that if I sell it (which I did), that person doesn't get a good box if that is a big deal for them - people love their boxes, and when selling this one I figured it was on me to show the damage of the box as much as it was to show if any damage was on the knife itself.

I don't think Knifeworks is totally free of fault though - it's obvious that these are stout knives in flimsy boxes, and it's fairly well known that people want the boxes with the knife (I would think moreso with dealer exclusives). Pack for shipping accordingly.

Knifeworks is easily my favorite dealer overall and that shows if you look at how much money I've spent with them in the last 4 years. With great dealers like GP Knives, Cutlery Shoppe, Blade HQ and Knife Center, which I have all done business with happily, I will always do my business with Knifeworks first. Roger and his team are awesome and you can't beat the selection as well as all the exclusives and sprints they offer.

i order from em all the time.

i often call the next morning or soon after my order is placed as i forget to ad in my comments that i want to ship ups.

The gals answering the phones are always bright and helpful.

Had two RMA's (major defects) from the same knife mfg. Knifeworks.com customer service would not give credit for return postage on the second RMA. The told me they inspect all knives before shipped. Not true, customer service hung up on me when I asked for credit for my second return had to call again and to explain in detail what happened. The customer service person could care less and told me my only option is a return (at my expense for a second time) the knife they sent me (the defective one that never should have never left the Knifeworks building). I was ready to buy more knives from them, they could give a sh?t less. My purchase was great until this occurred. I am so discussed with the company I actually contacted the nation sales manager of the knife mfg. and he e-mailed me from South America (awesome response) within 20 minutes and said he would send me a new knife and pay for the shipping. Now that's customer service!

I wonder if KnifeWorks would have the same recollection of your story. Sounds very much out of character.

They are tops, great service. Also New Graham & Sooner State Knives. Can't go wrong with any of these. Gary
