I just found out from Knifeworks that the Shot show grip delivery to them is delayed. They responded to my email I sent saying Benchmade had a machine problem causing the delay. She also said they expecting them in a few weeks. I was all amped up last week to get it, then the cruise ship thing, then I was pumped up for this week, and now a few more weeks......:grumpy:

Well that explains it. Thanks for sharing, at least I dont have to contact them now that you did. If theres is a problem in the facility, I hope they take their time with it actually and not rush it until its ready. Solid lock-up and centered blade for all!

Agreed. But you know what I mean when you get anxious for a new knife. I was like a kid on Christmas eve that just found out Christmas was moved to late January......:p

If you are talking about the one below, I have had mine for a few weeks. I think they were able to pick up some additional knives in addition to the first allotment.

Yes, and I'm here to say this is not your Daddy's Grip.

great looking knife..cant find one though. If you dont mind me asking, where did you get that clip?

I got tired of waiting and cancelled my Shot Show Griptilian with the dealer I had ordered it from. It isn't special enough for a long wait and I can order one like it or very close to it from a custom knife builder at a later date. Who knows - maybe Benchmade will offer G10 covers in the future in their Build a Custom Grip program.

It's a nice looking knife for sure - just not enough for a long wait.

Its really not a long wait though. I am waiting 12-14 months for my Demko AD-10. I will be waiting at least until the 2nd quarter of 2013 for the S110V ZT 560 that was announced in late May 2012.....waiting until March for this M4 blade, awesome 2 tone G10 grip is nothing. ;)

The wait does suck, but I'm not letting this one slide... It's an M4 blade, almost a Gold Class for a great price. Put it this way, they wont charge my CC anyway until it ships so I'm good. BTW, I ordered two.

I obviously can't tell you you're wrong, but got one from the first batch and I would come to a different conclusion. First, the higher-hardness M4 blade is great. Second, it's almost impossible to convey the difference that the G10 scales make. Not only do they look and feel nicer than the pictures, the whole knife handling experience is completely changed. No more cheap, hollow thwack when the blade locks. This one gives a solid noise and feeling when it locks (hard to come up with a word for the noise/feeling). It's a world of difference.

Things happen, but if we're talking about quality control there's a problem. In regular production mode, there doesn't appear to be an issue...but when doing limited runs between these there is a real issue that needs to be addressed, again IMO.

I know that both reg and mini Grips use the same Noryl/plastic handle, but I do find the mini grip's handle to be sufficient and actually like the knife the way it is (Not that I wouldn't jump on a G10 version mini). The bigger version however does seem hollow like JNewel said, the bigger plastic scale, half lined is less solid in terms of feel. I'm not too anal and have no complaints with Noryl/plastics altogether but I am looking forward to this G10 version when it finally arrives as it is an improvement especially for the larger Grip.

Take your time with these Benchmade, if there is a hold-up. Our patience will pay off. Hopefully we all get one with excellent F&F.

That's a topic that comes up a lot with Spyderco sprints. As a point of discussion and not disagreement, I think it's an open question whether limited runs should be made to normal production standards or whether they should have better F&F and QC. I don't know what the answer is, but my impression has been that a good number of people expect more. Dunno... :)

I just got a couple of these in the mail earlier in the week. Fit and finish is fantastic, as good or better than I would expect. Awesome looking!

i was getting ready to email knifeworks asking what the deal was with these knives, thanks for relaying the info to us. I couldn't wait any longer for the knife. . . so i bought a mini grip with custom scales and now that im looking at this beauty again, i don't expect to have my mini grip for much longer after they finally ship these shot show grips out

The Shot show BM's are the best part of the show IMO!

Mine came in the mail yesterday. Would've preferred a PE, but this knife is so nice that I'm very very happy with a CE (plus its even rarer ;) )

Fit, finish, blade centering, overall feel, just everything about this knife is top notch.

*wiping the drool off my face! lol

There's a local dealer that has one in stock, and he's offered to sell it to me at a slight discount from the $225 sticker price. I love the knife, but I'm torn on wether it's really worth the money or not. I'm not a collector, so this would see use and pocket time on regular occasssions. What do ya'll think.., grab it, or pass it on to a collector??
