However, the comment I made was derived from someone speaking directly to KW, that was the answer they received. Whether it was true or not, only Benchmade knows for certain.
I am the OP, check my first post. The explaination was a email response from a knifeworks employee. Here it is:
Benchmade was having some troubles with a machine and I believe that is was caused the delay.
