Just wanted to complain about knifeworks. Had about $140 of knives in the cart and signed up for email and received a 10% coupon. The coupon wouldn’t work so I emailed them for help. They refused to honor the coupon or help me in any way. I was hoping they would’ve at least honored the coupon they offered as the prices are good but based on principle I cannot buy from them and suggest no one does unless they honor coupons they offer. If they didn’t offer a coupon that’d be fine but don’t pretend like you do and refuse to help when asked.

Knifeworks.com is a pretty well respected vendor and I'm unable to find any trace of a current 10% off offer. Screenshot of the coupon you recieved or the code itself?

Coupons can not always be used on all brands, due to manufacturers pricing requirements.

I’ve done business with Knifeworks for years and have spoken to their customer service dept, they seemed very customer friendly.
 
I know if you search coupon codes sometimes you will find some that are no longer good or that were fake to start ... and as Last Rodeo mentioned some cannot be used with certain brands ...

And I would like to know more also ... as Knifeworks is actually one of the best dealers that I've done business with ... so I'm thinking there must be a good reason for this.

Completely agree, hence my concern as well.

The OP says he received the coupon when he signed up for email. I've been a customer for years, but just signed up for the newsletter with a different email address. No promotion or coupons in the only confirmation I received so far. Just this:

I’ve had perfect service from the probably 10 purchases ive made from knifeworks. They’re easily one of my preferred vendors.
 
I’ve bought a lot from KW, if there is a problem with some offer, it’s probably because you misinterpreted the conditions.

Certain brands have MAP pricing and don’t allow coupons or discounts on their products. It’s possible the coupon wasn’t valid either. Could you please give us some more information about this coupon? If a bad/old 10% off coupon is enough to ruin your day.....

Either way..... Knifeworks has been a FANTASTIC dealer for years and I’m sure years to come. Every transaction with knifeworks has been amazing for me.
 
Many good transactions with Knifeworks here , there must have been a valid reason why the coupon wasn't applied to your purchase.

Check the "coupon" you sure it's not for next purchase
I use and trust Knife Works, great outfit.
 
I have made many purchases from Knifeworks. Roger and his staff are awesome. They are one of the best dealers on the planet.

Maybe you could post your unedited email exchanges so we could all better understand what happened?

As far as taking the OP seriously, he starts with, "I just wanted to complain" and ends with a blatantly vague, "They refused to help me...in any way. I was hoping [for fulfilled expectations]..."

Never heard this rant before. :rolleyes:
 
got to be a miscommunication issue of some sort. roger and crew have always been top notch for me over many many years.

years ago when benchmade looked the other way or allowed a code to lower the price i forgot to enter it and overpaid heavily at that time. i emailed the kw crew and they gave me a refund instantly for the difference. they didnt have to and i didnt deserve it as i bumbled it up all on my own. they still did me right. so im leaning towards some sort of communication failure on their side your side or both?
