I know on many websites you can get a coupon for signing up but it usually only applies the next order, not the one in the current browsing session. Usually the pop-up about the coupon/discount clearly states this (in really tiny print
)

I have not dealt with Knifeworks so far, but I see nothing here to deter me from doing business with them. Seems like lots of satisfied customers vs 1 guy(OP) that throws up a complaint about not getting a discount, fails to elaborate and fill in the details, and disappears. Possibly it is the OP I shouldn't deal with ???
Indeed........
It has always been an unwritten rule of GBU that if no money changes hands there is no deal and therefore nothing to complain about.
In this case the OP is complaining about a transaction that never took place. He was not charged for anything and he never entered into a completed transaction with KW.
Indeed he knew exactly what the score was before he entered the transaction and then declined to continue. KW were transparent and correct in their dealings with him.
Since no money ever changed hands and there never was a transaction I urge the mods to lock this thread.
what did the coupon say? was it for your next order or was it expired? did you intend to use a coupon that wasn't valid for your transaction?Just wanted to complain about knifeworks. Had about $140 of knives in the cart and signed up for email and received a 10% coupon. The coupon wouldn’t work so I emailed them for help. They refused to honor the coupon or help me in any way. I was hoping they would’ve at least honored the coupon they offered as the prices are good but based on principle I cannot buy from them and suggest no one does unless they honor coupons they offer. If they didn’t offer a coupon that’d be fine but don’t pretend like you do and refuse to help when asked.
B Blender345 As some others have said, I’d appreciate some details or maybe a screenshot of the coupon. I’ve never purchased from Knifeworks but they’re definately in my scan pattern. On one side, I’d like some confirmation before dealing (or not) with a new retailer; on the other side, it’s always nice to know if there’s a chance to save a few bucks on my next purchase.
Etiquette wise, GBU is not typically the place for an OP to drop & run.
