ok i got my knife back today and i have to say the quality is certainly lacking for him haveing it for 4 months. there was certainly a point where i thought i would not get my knife back but thanks to this thread i did

the quality is lacking the shapes are poorly defined and the wait was way to long. and he kept my spyderco box which pisses me off because i keep all of them.

here is a look at the left side as you can see all of the screwes were left satin and the duracoat its pretty fuzzy. not becuase of the camera

here is the other side where he duracoated the two body screws and left the pivot satin, that show pretty low attention to detail not to mention the shapes are very poorly defined

there is some of the cross contamination between the colors on both sides of the knife, another example of very low attention to detail.

overall i am very unhappy with ryan. he is a shady business man who kept my knife for 4 months after i was promised a week turnaround time. he dosent communicate at all with his customers unless its to accept work. he claims he is taking a break but is still accepting orders as they come in so he can scam more people. i feel that ryan should be banned from selling on baldeforums and i recommend no one send knives to him its not worth it. not to mention that the quality of the work i got was bad and the attention to detail was low at least he sent me the right design though. if you go to the forum linked above you can see more post from unsatisfied customers.


update: i have emailed ryan and requested at least 75% of what i payed him back because of this awful experience, through paypal gift of course

Dude that looks like crap! did you pay for that work? if so can you get your money back for that trash he performed on your knife.

I would contact Ryan to see if he can give you some of your money back for such a shotty job.

He refunded me some of my money when he didn't even come remotely close to the design I gave him.

i could try to get some of it back back but i doubt he would willingly give it to me i would have to take file a complaint through paypal.

thanks i will contact him to see if i can get some money back yours was pretty sad how he sent you a completely different design than what you asked and broke your custom you sent him.
 
I would be effin torqued!!! That is some of the lowest quality of craftsmanship that I have seen come from someone who is supposed to be a professional. I would contact him, demand money back and the box. In all retrospect, he should replace the knife with a new one!
 
i plan on emailing him and requesting at least some of my money back, he probably threw the box out but ill ask about that to.
 
That is awful... it looks like you gave a child a can of spray paint and a stencil. I hope you get all your money back for that crap....
 
Sorry to say this, but the work you are showing is pure sloppy, shoddy and careless crap. File a dispute with PayPal, get all your money back.

im giving ryan 24 hours to respond before i file a complaint with paypal for all of my money, i actually feel i should be payed fro him ruining my knife.
 
ryan responded saying he would be happy to refund me once he gets some more paypal payments from other people, this seems really good definitely some fast communication hopefully he keeps his word.
 
I'm telling you, he should replace that knife and let you destroy that one!! At the 24 hour mark I would file with PayPal immediately.
 
Sorry, not only did he do a horrible job, he wrecked your Paramilitary 2. Even if you wanted to trade that thing for another knife, nobody would want that blade. You should at least get your box and a full refund back, and if he had any class a new Paramilitary as well.


Is this guy a professional or a 13 year old? Seriously.

ya the hope was i would get this great knife but instead i got a poorly painted knife that actually went down in value, if he has to wait to get funds to pay be 40$ i doubt he would get me a new para 2.

The definition of a failing business model. Ryan should give it up at this point, he's behind and clearly not changing his ways in order to do right by his customers.

Ryan that work is piss poor at best, did you really think it would slide sending it out the door like that? Seriously?

very true but im worried if i go file a claim right now he will say he was planning on refunding me my money and then the claim would be useless. im giving him 48 hours to send me the money before i file a complaint.
