Im not sure why people recommend this place. Maybe it's just to get a referal bonus from newcomers like me. I placed two orders with this place over a month ago, and have only received 3 out of the 6 items i ordered. (The cheapest 3 items too, surprise) They dont respond to any of my e-mails, even though I have been polite and non threatening in every one of them. Now I have to go through my credit card company to get a charge back on the items that I havent received, and i doubt they were ever shipped. I guess I should have listened to the few people that told me not to use this company. You can say 'I told you so' if you want to, I deserve it. On a brighter note, I got a new SOG Trident from another online retailer. It's a pretty knife.
 
The thing is the owner Josh Burbank does everything basically on his own and he's a very busy guy, he gets alot of emails. When I emailed him about my BM31 it took a week to get a response. One possiblity could be that someone stole your knives or mabey Josh is sold out. Either way I have placed over 30 orders now with Josh and I have yet to have any problems with his service.
 
Pipester, sorry to hear that you have had a negative experience with knifezilla. I never have and never will order from Josh at knifezilla or pvk for my own personal reasons. I DO NOT recommend that you use this company. Most people who have told you to use this online retailer have done so because they are either an associate and receive discounts on every referral or they truly appreciate his service and sky high prices.

Let me recommend that you buy from Danny at www.888knivesrus.com, not because I have any negotiations with him (I don't), but because he is truly a great guy and has excellent knives at bad ass prices.

I've never had any problems with Josh's service, but these threads tend to pop up a bit too much. Maybe he needs to hire a secretary.
 
Im pretty sure he has chosen to ignore my e-mails. Every other time (before I asked about my missing items) he answered with a day or two. Also, If he was sold out, wouldn't that big banner saying 'All knives guaranteed in stock!' be a bit of false advertising? :rolleyes: Oh well, I've bought a lot of stuff over the internet and for the most part it goes ok. For times like this, credit card companies are usually pretty good at giving back my money. I guess I should file a quick complaint with the BBB as well. That's what they are there for isnt it?

Balis Edge: A simple 'I told ya so' would have worked ;) I suppose I'll try out your link, thanks.
 
Wow.., that is surprising to me Pipester, but I have heard quite a few negative comments lately about all Josh's ventures...

I've done business with him for years.., and actually through each of his companies (and Blade Auction indirectly)...

Never had a problem of any kind.., so I think it is time for Josh to think about some more help maybe??? He does try to run all entities solo...

As much as I love the internet and e-commerce, when it comes to buying things like knives, I prefer getting them in an offline shop. This way I get to walk away with one immediately and can actually try flipping it before I pay for it. This eliminates most problems.
 
I like trying out the knife before I buy it too, but web sites tend to have better prices. I usually go to a store and try it out then buy it from the cheapest web site. Every now and then I feel guilty and buy it from the store, and sometimes I just can't wait for the shipping. Tulis is right though, it's nice to try out the actual knife you buy. You can also buy the best one in the store after examining them all.:D
 
Ouch, I'm simply shocked, what is it about Josh that you guys don't like? Bali's Edge drop me an email, at least help me protect my self in the future...but so far I've made 3 orders and they have come through 110%. I just made another one few days back. See how it goes.....
 
sometimes Josh gets a little busy and doesnt answer emails, but he answered my email on the cheetah last week, plus everything that i oredered from him ame quick, but i havent ordered anything real expensive from him either, for that I use New Graham
 
Well, I've never had a problem with Josh. I've gotten plenty of things from him with no problems....... and I have loads of e-mail from people that were very happy with his service.

That said, I do understand his dillema.......... one ambitious guy with a thriving business, trying to handle it all himself.

It's easy to say "Josh, go hire some help", but some of us have that "If you want it done right, do it yourself", mentality (something I'm VERY guilty of).

Unfortunately, it's easy to get buried sometimes.......... and getting out ain't always easy.

I'm sure he'll take care of whatever it is that needs to be taken care of. He always does!
 
Well, the most I've blown at one time at knifezilla/pvk was £190 for my tachyon...and that came through 110%. I really don't mind paying more to a 'can do' man...Josh charges for his services, and hey....I appreciate it...

If it was not for Josh, I wouldn't be flippin'!!!!!
 
I think this thread should stay here because it is bali related... somewhat... but if you're really upset about it, take it to GBU as well.

Being a great guy simply isnt getting the job done, if he wants it done right than he better do it himself... Well, it seems that just isnt panning out much lately either. But pipester, to answer your question, I think the reason so many people reccomend Josh is simple. If you live in Canada, or any where else where import of balis is illegal, and you want a bali to make it past customs, well then call Josh. He seems to know how to mark packages and deceive the customs agents. Most businesses won't even bother if they know it's illegal I am very surprised how open the forum is to this fact. It is talked about all the time. Even comman knowledge However personally I have had few issues with him. I also have had several great transactions with him. But obviously you all have not been as fortunate. If He's a one man show. Than he needs to hire some help to keep up with and satisfy his customers. Christ, I have a hard time handling a few auction at the same time, I can't imagine trying to keep something like PVK or ZILLA afloat.

I mean his service is unprecedented and hard to find... and hey I'm taking a risk, so I'm willing to pay extra to have stuff done... are you saying you don't like Josh's ethics?? awww get a grip dude..this is the real world and some of us live in uh...not so american soiled joints, catch meh drift? hehe....

BTW, Josh will resend items at his cost if they do not get to you, that's his policy too...I think...at least he told me this in the event my Tachyon got grabbed by customs....I think you got a mailing problem or you maybe one of 'em nightmare customers....try to get to know him, be nice and don't demand....hehe...it's easier to work with nice people.

Dude brandc, thanks for the reply. I guess I got kinds lossed in all the posts...hehehe... this 'hehe' thing is kinda a virus with me....can get annoying to my self sometimes too.... :D

Funny thing is I've never had a problem with him and I don't see how this is possible. Guess if it ever happens Balis Edge will say 'Na Na Na Na POO POO, I told you soo.... :p` haha...but I don't think I will reach that point.

Anyways, can't wait to get my set of throwers, should be kickass... :D :D
 
I have made two orders with josh before my first was a BM43 and second was two black dragons I had a slight problem with the second delievery although it appatrantly left him on time so it must have got help up here and if it got held up here it was cleared he really does know how to pack them well,I am about to make an order for 2 BM but not from josh only becuase he can't get the knives but I think he does a great service thats my opinion bare with it dude I know it is frustrating to have no stuff but try no balis and then waiting that is a pain but you have balis so flip them and ba patient.
