Knifezilla / PVK - highly don't recommend

I've been doing business with Josh for many years, and he's always done right by me.

Never had a problem with the merchandise, shipping OR communications ...

Just my $0.02 ...

After seeing the mixed reviews here, I was somewhat reluctant to place an order. But PVK had an item I wanted and couldn't find any place else: The PVKNIFE Custom Knife Case at $23, which is a great item at a good price...far superior case than any I've found and way better than that piece of crap "attache" Benchmade is making now.
Since I was ordering, added a few other items (don't we all?)

Placed an online order on Sept. 25, received an immediate email acknowledgement of order.

On Sept. 30, got an email that order was shipped. Not lightning processing time but certainly perfectly satisfactory.

Received order today, Oct. 2. Eight days from order to receipt, you can't do much better than that.

All items ordered were included and in perfect shape. No packing slip, which certainly isn't required, but IMHO is helpful to both the shipper and receiver.

Only minor problem was the free knife that was supposed to come with the dollar amount of that order was not included. Not a huge issue to me, since it did not effect if I ordered or what I ordered, but still...

So, overall I'd rate it at 4 3/4 out of 5 stars. Which aint bad. If the free knife had been included or at least some note as to why it wasn't and if there was a packing slip, I'd give PVK 5 stars.

Also, does that site have a search function? If so, I haven't found it. PVK has a HUGE amount of stuff and finding things without some search function is tedious.

UPDATE: Sent an email about the missing free knife on Friday evening, got a reply from Josh this morning, Sunday! The man is obviously working hard. Apologized and said he would get it right out. Pretty much makes it 5 out of 5 stars for this order.

PVK treated me like a king. Its been my experience that when you see mixed reviews of a retailer (knife or otherwise)...they are usually a good retailer but very busy...maybe for things outside of the business. I know that doesn't help those who feel shafted...but there are bad people/dealers out there and from my experience I don't think PVK is a bad one.
 
Josh is not dishonest. He is sometimes slow to ship. Most of the time he is terrible at communicating, but he always comes through.

Same here. I probably bought 100 knives thru Josh and every sale went smoothly.
Also, Josh IS an honest man who is running a five person operation all by himself and therein lies the problem; he is shorthanded!!!
 
I tried to communicate with him and he was nice, but I talked to him on youtube about how he talks about everyone in this world in general and how no one who is not exactly like him is good enough. He is a judgemental prick after what I can see, but he is nice at first with new customers who haven't bought anything yet.

I placed an order mistakingly and even in the information box I had written information that clearly showed I thought I had bought the other product which I wanted.
I contacted him to cancel the order and he never replied. The next day I send another message and he replies to that one saying it has already been shipped.... yeah thanks I believe he ignored the e-mail to cancel it just to get money.
Now I sent an e-mail to return the unused and unopened product but he has not responded and it has been 5 days.

On a 3rd or 4th note (I lost count here) my credit card was charged 2 times out of nowhere, both times were money going directly to Josh. Tell me why a reputable person would do that? A reputable person wouldn't. He stole money from my bank account without my permission for no good reason.

So in summary he is judgemental, rude, takes money, ignores any e-mail that could make him loose profit and he is unhelpfull when it comes to people wanting their money back or help with a broken product.

I hope you can do something to get you money back..I go to his site often and whenever I go to the checkout I remember this thread and I buy somewhere else. I have got a few things from him and everything went well..But again this thread pops in my head and I walk away any new purchases.
