I totally understand the something other than Starbucks, except if I brew it. As a last resort in an airport or on a flight but otherwise only if I brew it. Please enlighten me on the Island Roasters brand. I am always looking for another roast and brand. Thanks
Very warm and relaxing looking setting
Thank you. I will order a bagI only started drinking coffee a few years ago so I'm not very knowledgeable, but I have been able to get to a point where I can distinguish what is good to me.
I'm exactly the same way with you when it comes to Starbucks. It's ok if that's all there is, and occasionally I'll brew it myself when my daughter brings me home a bag of beans (she only does so when something special comes in); but for the most part I avoid it. Plus, I feel like they are geared more towards coffee flavored sugar milk drinks, which I have zero interest in since I only drink my coffee black.
Island Roasters is a small family owned place that's been in my home town for about a decade, and quickly gained a cult following among the locals. It's right by the bridge that attaches the mainland to the barrier island ("beachside"), so I found it by stopping in for a cuppa drip on my way to go kayaking one day and have been doing so ever since (when I'm back in town). I'm not sure how they compare to other roasters, but as far as I can tell they do have a passion for it, and it seems noticeably high quality to me. I also appreciate that they roast organic beans, that they are a good local business for the community, and they just all-around seem like a company worth supporting.
